Mojca Erdmann, Elin Rombo and Virpi Raisänen lead the cast in this
world premiere performance of Wolfgang Rihm's operatic fantasy,
recorded live at the 2010 Salzburg Festival. Based on Nietzsche's
late cycle of poems 'Dionysus-Dithyrambs', the performance features
distinctive staging by Jonathan Meese. Ingo Metzmacher conducts the
Deutsches Symphonieorchester.
A world premiere recording of Wolfgang Rihm's opera, staged at the
Deutsche Oper, Berlin in 1987. Baritone Andreas Schmidt heads a
cast including William Pell, William Dooley and Lenus Carlson.

Thomas Hengelbrock conducts the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester in
this 2017 concert given to celebrate the opening of their new
residence, the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. Featuring performances
of works by Benjamin Britten, Olivier Messiaen and Jacob
Praetorius, the concert invites soloists Philippe Jaroussky,
Hanna-Elisabeth Müller, Wiebke Lehmkuhl, Pavol Breslik and Bryn
Terfel to perform alongside the orchestra in this landmark concert
in the orchestra's career.
