Now in its third edition, Woods and West's The Psychology of Work and Organizations provides students with a complete introduction to how psychology can help us to better understand the world of work and to change it for the better.
Work psychology has the potential to help people be more productive and prosperous in their jobs, to derive joy from work, flourish rather than languish as a result of their work lives, and to ensure the effectiveness and adaptability of work organizations. Ensuring organizations support environmental concerns, enable positive approaches to equality, diversity and inclusion, and achieve the benefits of new technologies are key themes of this new edition.
The authors address these issues with an engaging, optimistic and very accessible approach.

Perfect for fans of A Court of Thorns and Roses and From Blood and
Ash. Book two in the Of Flesh & Bone series! Once, I fell in
love with a man who deceived me. For weeks, he stood by my side,
twisting his words into pretty half-truths. He enraptured me with
his smooth temptation, leaving no corner of my being untouched. He
consumed my mind and my body, then finally claimed my heart for
himself. But Caelum's true identity is terrifying enough to bring
me to my knees. Then, I discovered the truth of who he is. Caldris
is whispered in the Nothrek wind. The legend we only speak of with
hushed words, in shuttered rooms, for fear of drawing his wrath
once again. His intentions are a mystery, his desires impure, and
he seeks to shackle me to his side for all eternity. With the Wild
Hunt as our guard, he points us back to where it all began: the
village of Mistfell and the boundary where the Veil once shimmered
in the wind. Now, another secret crouches, poised to change
everything. The Mist Guard have been sworn to keep us from crossing
into Alfheimr, and from treading Faerie soil, even if innocents
must pay with their lives. They have orders to resurrect Mistfell's
shimmering barrier, but, once again, there's a greater cost than
what has been revealed. Once, the people of Northrek blamed me when
the Veil fell. Soon, they'll want me to pay the price the magic
requires.

An acclaimed, bestselling novel - a stunning work of political
fiction that reads like a thriller, about the rise to power of
Putin's notorious spin doctor He was known as the Wizard of the
Kremlin. The enigmatic Vadim Baranov was a TV producer before
becoming political advisor to Putin. After his resignation from
this position, legends about him multiply, without anyone being
able to distinguish truth from fiction. Until one night, he tells
his story to the narrator of this book... This story immerses the
reader at the heart of Russian power, where sycophants and
oligarchs have been engaging in open warfare, and where Vadim, now
the regime's main spin doctor, turns an entire country into an
avant-garde political stage. Yet Vadim is not as ambitious as the
others. Entangled in the increasingly dark secret workings of the
regime he has contributed to build, he will do anything to get out,
guided by the memory of his grandfather, an eccentric aristocrat
who survived the Revolution, and the mesmerizing, merciless Ksenia,
whom he has fallen in love with. From the war in Chechnya to the
invasion of Ukraine, The Wizard of the Kremlin is a great novel on
contemporary Russia, and a sobering meditation on power, which
takes the reader behind the scenes of the Putin era.

An original book offering a unique theoretical approach,
Re-examining Insolvency Law and Theory analyses the important role
that legal theory plays in the development of insolvency law. It
explores how law and theory are able to respond to issues of

law could develop to address contemporary challenges. Re-examining
Insolvency Law and Theory brings together international experts in
insolvency, who consider the key conceptual influences that have
impacted insolvency law since the beginning of the 21st century.
Chapters address a number of theoretical perspectives, divided into
overall philosophical considerations, theoretical criticisms of the
internal mechanisms of insolvency law, and how external theoretical
paradigms could be used to shift perspectives on insolvency
frameworks. Presenting a distinctive and conceptually holistic
approach, this erudite book provides an essential contribution to
an ever evolving area of legal research and practice. Re-examining
Insolvency Law and Theory is a crucial read for academics and
students interested in insolvency law both in the UK and
internationally. It will also be highly insightful for legal

Based on close analyses of contemporary texts, and backed by an
examination of the origins of the elements transferred and of the
process of transmission, the contributors to this volume focus on
the perception and adaptation of knowledge and cultural elements in
the West. Taking a variety of approaches, they shed light on the
changing lines of communication between the Byzantine empire and
other parts of the Mediterranean, on the one hand, and the
Burgundian, Frankish and Anglo-Saxon realms and the Papacy on the
other.

Rupert Friend stars in the eponymous role of this action thriller
directed by Aleksander Bach. The International Contracts Agency
(ICA), a top secret organisation that works independently of the
U.S. government, has spent millions of dollars developing its own
army of genetically engineered assassins. Known only by the last
two digits of the barcode stamped on the back of his neck, Agent 47
is the best assassin in the business, boasting unrivalled
intelligence, speed and strength. When 47's latest target,
multi-national corporation owner John Smith (Zachary Quinto), gets
wind of his impending fate, Smith tries to penetrate the ICA to
find the secret to their success in creating invincible agents with
a plan of improving on their skills to develop his own army.
Following the success of their collaboration on Robin Hood, David
Wood and Dave and Toni Arthur wrote Jack the Lad, a musical
celebration of Jack, the ubiquitous hero or everyman of English
legend, myth and folklore - from Little Jack Horner, through Jack
and the Beanstalk to Spring Heeled Jack, the Terror of London. The
setting is a gypsy encampment, where a series of Jack tales and
songs are performed by the gypsies to celebrate the 80th birthday
of their senior member - affectionately known as Jack the Lad. The
play, therefore, depicts contemporary gypsy life, as well as
traditional gypsy customs and superstitions, and is a delightful
amalgam of the traditional arts of storytelling, singing and
dancing, with a mumming play, a shadow-mime and puppetry also
employed within the main framework.

Adaptation of the award-winning comic series created by Frank
Miller. Interweaving multiple storylines from the series' history,
the film paints a picture of the ultimate town through the eyes of
its roughest characters. There's the street thug Marv (Mickey
Rourke), whose desperate quest to find the killer of a prostitute
named Goldie (Jaime King) will lead him to the foulest edges of
town. Inhabiting many of those areas is Dwight (Clive Owen), a
photographer in league with the sordid ladies of Sin City, headed
by Gail (Rosario Dawson), who opens up a mess of trouble after
tangling with a corrupt cop by the name of Jackie Boy (Benicio Del
Toro). Finally, there's Hartigan (Bruce Willis), an ex-cop with a
heart problem who's hell-bent on protecting a stripper named Nancy
(Jessica Alba).
Triple bill of crime dramas. In 'Bad Karma' (2012), starring Ray
Liotta and Dominic Purcell, a criminal's attempts to go straight
are sabotaged by his former partner. Relocating from Sydney to the
Gold Coast to start afresh, Molloy (Liotta) is remarkably
successful and even finds something approaching domestic bliss with
a new girlfriend. Naturally, when his old crime partner Mack
(Purcell) tracks him down he finds that Molloy is reluctant to
return to his past life. Unfortunately, this doesn't deter the
increasingly deranged Mack as he sets about convincing Molloy to
help him pull off one last job. In 'The Entitled' (2011) social
misfit Paul (Kevin Zegers) is driven to desperate measures when he
is turned down for yet another job and his ill mother is given a
foreclosure notice on the family home. He enlists the help of two
friends to abduct three kids from rich families and hold them
ransom for a million dollars each, but the plan goes badly wrong
and they soon find themselves in way over their heads. 'Officer
Down' (2012) follows Detective David Callahan (Stephen Dorff),
known as 'Cal' on the force, who has had a mixed career as a police
officer, struggling with drink problems and straying to the wrong
side of the law himself at times. When he finds himself caught up
in a murder investigation, Cal must attempt to overcome the demons
from his own past as well as the challenges of the case.
