The Asia-Paci?c region has emerged in recent years as one of the fastest g- wing regions in the world in the use of Web technologies as well as in making signi?cant contributions to WWW research and development. Since the ?rst Asia-Paci?c Web conference in 1998, APWeb has continued to provide a forum for researchers, professionals, and industrial practitioners from around the world to share their rapidly evolving knowledge and to report new advances in WWW technologies and applications. APWeb 2004 received an overwhelming 386 full-paper submissions, including 375 research papers and 11 industrial papers from 20 countries and regions: A- tralia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Greece, HongKong, India, Iran, Japan, Korea, Norway, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, UK, USA, and Vietnam. Each submission was carefully reviewed by three members of the p- gram committee. Among the 386 submitted papers, 60 regular papers, 24 short papers, 15 poster papers, and 3 industrial papers were selected to be included in the proceedings. The selected papers cover a wide range of topics including Web services, Web intelligence, Web personalization, Web query processing, Web - ching, Web mining, text mining, data mining and knowledge discovery, XML database and query processing, work?ow management, E-commerce, data - rehousing, P2P systems and applications, Grid computing, and networking. The paper entitled "Towards Adaptive Probabilistic Search in Unstructured P2P - stems," co-authored by Linhao Xu, Chenyun Dai, Wenyuan Cai, Shuigeng Zhou, and Aoying Zhou, was awarded the best APWeb 2004 student paper.

R1,783 Discovery Miles 17 830 Ships in 10 - 15 working days

The papers in this volume were selected for presentation at the 6th Annual International Computing and Combinatorics Conference (COCOON2000), in Sydney, Australia from July 26 - 28, 2000. The topics cover many areas in t- oretical computer science and combinatorial optimization. There were 81 high quality papers submitted to COCOON2000. Each paper was reviewed by at least three program committee members, and the 44 papers were selected. It is expected that most of them will appear in a more complete form in scientic journals. In addition to the selected papers, the volume also contains the papers from two invited keynote speeches by Christos Papad- itriou and Richard Brent. This year the Hao Wang Award was given to honor the paper judged by the programcommittee to have the greatest merit. The recipient is \Approximating Uniform TriangularMeshes in Polygons"byFranz Aurenhammer, NaokiKatoh, Hiromichi Kojima, Makoto Ohsaki, and Yinfeng Xu. The rst Best Young - searcher paper award was given to William Duckworth for his paper \Maximum Induced Matchings of Random Cubic Graphs." We wish to thank all who have made this meeting possible: the authors for submitting papers, the program committee members and the external referees, sponsors, the local organizers, ACM SIGACT for handling electronic subm- sions, Springer-Verlagfor their support, and Debbie Hatherellfor her assistance.

Cohesive Subgraph Search Over Large Heterogeneous Information Networks (Paperback, 1st ed. 2022): Yixiang Fang, Kai Wang,... Cohesive Subgraph Search Over Large Heterogeneous Information Networks (Paperback, 1st ed. 2022)

R1,184 Discovery Miles 11 840 Ships in 12 - 17 working days

This SpringerBrief provides the first systematic review of the existing works of cohesive subgraph search (CSS) over large heterogeneous information networks (HINs). It also covers the research breakthroughs of this area, including models, algorithms and comparison studies in recent years. This SpringerBrief offers a list of promising future research directions of performing CSS over large HINs. The authors first classify the existing works of CSS over HINs according to the classic cohesiveness metrics such as core, truss, clique, connectivity, density, etc., and then extensively review the specific models and their corresponding search solutions in each group. Note that since the bipartite network is a special case of HINs, all the models developed for general HINs can be directly applied to bipartite networks, but the models customized for bipartite networks may not be easily extended for other general HINs due to their restricted settings. The authors also analyze and compare these cohesive subgraph models (CSMs) and solutions systematically. Specifically, the authors compare different groups of CSMs and analyze both their similarities and differences, from multiple perspectives such as cohesiveness constraints, shared properties, and computational efficiency. Then, for the CSMs in each group, the authors further analyze and compare their model properties and high-level algorithm ideas. This SpringerBrief targets researchers, professors, engineers and graduate students, who are working in the areas of graph data management and graph mining. Undergraduate students who are majoring in computer science, databases, data and knowledge engineering, and data science will also want to read this SpringerBrief.
