Thanks to Laura Latuule, Rentt achieves the next stage of evolution, and is reborn as a vampire! He returns to Maalt's Second Orphanage, both to check on Sister Lillian's health and to ask if he and Lorraine can take on Alize as an apprentice. Little does Rentt know that two figures are approaching Maalt. One is a saint of the Church of Lobelia, and the other is a famous...vampire hunter?! Rentt Faina, the undead adventurer, agrees to take on a request from the Latuules, a highly influential yet mysterious family in Maalt. There's just one complication-in order to actually meet with them, he has to find his way through a giant hedge maze! At the end of the maze, Rentt finds the Latuule matriarch, a young girl named Laura Latuule. Laura explains the request, and as thanks for him accepting it, she shows Rentt her family's prized magic item collection. Rentt is fascinated by the sheer number and variety of items...but when he accidentally activates a magic golem, it's time for battle!
