This book combines the experience and achievements in engineering
practice of the China Academy of Space Technology, Xi’an, with a
focus on the field of high-power multipactor over recent decades.
It introduces the main concepts, theories, methods and latest
technologies of multipactor simulation, at both the theoretical
level and as a process of engineering, while providing a
comprehensive introduction to the outstanding progress made in the
research technology of multipactor numerical simulation in China.
At the same time, a three-dimensional numerical simulation method
of multipactor for typical high-power microwave components of
spacecraft is introduced. This book is an essential volume for
engineers in the field of high-power microwave technology. It can
also be used as a reference for researchers in related fields, or
as a teaching reference book for graduate students majoring in
Astronautics at colleges and universities.

Computational Intelligence Assisted Design framework mobilises
computational resources, makes use of multiple Computational
Intelligence (CI) algorithms and reduces computational costs. This
book provides examples of real-world applications of technology.
Case studies have been used to show the integration of services,
cloud, big data technology and space missions. It focuses on
computational modelling of biological and natural intelligent
systems, encompassing swarm intelligence, fuzzy systems, artificial
neutral networks, artificial immune systems and evolutionary
computation. This book provides readers with wide-scale information
on CI paradigms and algorithms, inviting readers to implement and
problem solve real-world, complex problems within the CI
development framework. This implementation framework will enable
readers to tackle new problems without difficulty through a few
tested MATLAB source codes

The increasingly active eld of Evolutionary Computation (EC)
provides val- ble tools, inspired by the theory of natural
selection and genetic inheritance, to problem solving, machine
learning, and optimization in many real-world app- cations. Despite
some early intuitions about EC, that can be dated back to the -
vention of computers, and a better formal de nition of EC, made in
the 1960s, the quest for real-world applications of EC only began
in the late 1980s. The dramatic increase in computer performances
in the last decade of the 20th c- tury gave rise to a positive
feedback process: EC techniques became more and more applicable,
stimulating the growth of interest in their study, and allowing, in
turn, new powerful EC paradigms to be devised. In parallel with new
theoretical results, the number of elds to which EC is being
applied is increasing day by day, along with the complexity of
applications and application domains. In particular, industrially
relevant elds, such as signal and image processing, computer
vision, pattern recognition, industrial control, telecommunication,
scheduling and timetabling, and aerospace engineering are employing
EC techniques to solve complex real-world problems.

2022 PROSE Awards Category Winner - Biography & Autobiography
Foreword INDIES Book of the Year Awards - 2021 BRONZE Winner for
Biography The fascinating biography of Eunice Hunton Carter, a
social justice and civil rights trailblazer and the only woman
prosecutor on the Luciano trial Eunice Hunton Carter rose to public
prominence in 1936 as both the only woman and the only person of
color on Thomas Dewey's famous gangbuster team that prosecuted
mobster Lucky Luciano. But her life before and after the trial
remains relatively unknown. In this definitive biography on this
trailblazing social justice activist, authors Marilyn S. Greenwald
and Yun Li tell the story of this unknown but critical pioneer in
the struggle for racial and gender equality in the twentieth
century. Carter worked harder than most men because of her race and
gender, and Greenwald and Li reflect on her lifelong commitment to
her adopted home of Harlem, where she was viewed as a role model,
arts patron, community organizer, and, later, as a legal advisor to
the United Nations, the National Council of Negro Women, and
several other national and global organizations. Carter was both a
witness to and a participant in many pivotal events of the early
and mid- twentieth century, including the Harlem riot of 1935 and
the social scene during the Harlem Renaissance. Using transcripts,
letters, and other primary and secondary sources from several
archives in the United States and Canada, the authors paint a
colorful portrait of how Eunice continued the legacy of the Carter
family, which valued education, perseverance, and hard work: a
grandfather who was a slave who bought his freedom and became a
successful businessman in a small colony of former slaves in
Ontario, Canada; a father who nearly single-handedly integrated the
nation's YMCAs in the Jim Crow South; and a mother who provided aid
to Black soldiers in France during World War I and who became a
leader in several global and domestic racial equality causes.
Carter's inspirational multi-decade career working in an
environment of bias, segregation, and patriarchy in Depression-era
America helped pave the way for those who came after her.
Natural gas storage valuation is a challenging topic. It requires
both appropriate price models and optimization models. We assume
that each forward price follows a geometric Brownian motion
process. Spot price also follows a geometric Brownian motion
process, but its expectation changes from month to month. Since
optimization models are independent of price simulations,
alternative price models can be implemented in the valuation.
Various models are used for storage valuation, including "intrinsic
rolling with spot and forward," Monte Carlo simulation with
ordinary least square regression, and Monte Carlo simulation with
stochastic dual dynamic programming. The first methodology takes
both forward and spot prices into account, while the other two
methodologies only use spot price. The results show that many
factors can impact the value of a storage, including the term
structure of the forward prices, volatilities of forward and spot
prices, and the operational flexibility of the storage.
