This book presents a bold hypothesis: the social transformation at
the heart of feminist theory will be concretised only when women,
and men, use their imaginations to empower new ways of being in and
understanding our world. Feminist theory and the history of the
philosophy of the imagination are used as resources to outline how
the practice of "sexual difference" as an ontological vocation, and
its application to religious language, can be a call to live love
and mutual relations in a new way. Poetry, art, cultural and
literary works are key resources too. Gilligan invites the reader
to apply this theory, history and art to their own unfolding gender
identities through an imagination no longer hindered by patriarchal
characteristics and restrictions. She offers a special focus on the
becoming of female subjectivity. She knew that if people,
especially, though not only, women, image the possible for
themselves and our world, through doing the hard work of becoming
subject, not object of any other, such agency would necessarily
change even the most intransigent social, economic and cultural
problems to shift violence towards peace, lies towards truth,
poverty and inequality towards the flourishing of every one. She
bore witness to this in her own life, with others.
Though Red and Rit have been enjoying their new, stress-free life
together in Zoltan, the Hero, Ruti, hasn't taken her brother's
departure nearly so well. Nevertheless, she and her party head for
an ancient ruin in search of a weapon left behind by the demon
lord-though what they find may not be quite what they expected...
Despite being the bearer of the powerful Divine Blessing of the
Guide, Red has been banished from the Hero's party. Listless, he
decides to head to the frontier and hatches a plan to spend his
days working an easy apothecary job. Thus begins his new life!
A new Hero named Van has appeared, and he's headed for Zoltan. This
naive and innocent boy possesses the strength to make even Theodora
the Crusader shudder, and he blindly obeys the word of the Church.
When Red, Rit, and Ruti learn of this new Hero they decide...to
avoid him completely by leaving Zoltan for a little while on a
vacation?! A confrontation with this unprecedented second savior of
the world does sound like a lot of work, after all. But will they
really be able to evade Van forever?
A demon seems to be behind the rash of violent incidents sweeping
formerly peaceful Zoltanâbut what are they after?! That said,
thereâs a more immediate crisis at the apothecaryâwith Red and
Rit growing closer, Ritâs finally decided to buy...a double
bed?!?
Far from the battle with the demon lord's army, another fight is
brewing in Zoltan. The Veronian warship in the harbor declares war
on the peaceful frontier region. Red left the battlefield behind
him a long time ago, but to protect those he loves and his peaceful
days, he takes up his sword again!
After getting through Dir's attempt to ruin their lives unscathed,
Red and Rit decide to play hooky from their shop and take a trip to
the river for a well-deserved, much-needed date! After an
energizing time in the sun, they're ready to go back to peace and
quiet, but things are rarely that simple-when an injured man
stumbles into Red's shop, the couple is forced to spring into
action!
Ruti defeated the new Hero before he could cause too much damage.
But rather than cool his ambitions, the loss leaves Van utterly
obsessed with getting back at her! Now it's up to Red to safeguard
the laid-back lifestyle he's created with his sister. Can he set
this dangerous other Hero on the right path before it's too late?
Red was born with incredible powers, and he seemed like the perfect
candidate to join the front lines in the fight to save the
world-but before he could, he was told this wasn't where he
belonged. Instead, he finds his destiny in an apothecary...
With the battle against Ares finally over, Red and company can
finally return to their peaceful, slow days. No life is without its
adventures though, and Red sets off for the Wall at the End of the
World in search of the perfect gem to mark his betrothal to Rit.
Along the way he encounters scenic views, soaks in blissful hot
springs, and even reunites with an old friendi?9;who's head over
heels in love with him?!
The search for the missing Hero, Ruti, has led all her party
members to the remote region of Zoltan. Ares plots to use the girl
for his own designs, but Red isn't willing to surrender his sister
without a fight! This is a tale of a brother and sister who refuse
the call to save the world and instead strive to forge a happy
everyday life.
The modern world of ubiquitous communication devices has fueled
recent research into the need to find technical solutions to
address energy consumption concerns raised by various stakeholders.
These include: The exponential increase of connected devices that
wireless communications have been experiencing poses serious
sustainable growth concerns. The rapid expansion of wireless
networks causes environmental concerns. Economic concerns drive the
development of novel energy-efficient ICT. This monograph focuses
on energy-efficient wireless network design, including resource
allocation, scheduling, precoding, relaying, and decoding. Starting
from simple point-to-point (P2P) systems and then gradually moving
towards more complex interference networks, the energy efficiency
is defined and its properties characterized. The authors show how
the energy efficiency is naturally defined by fractional functions,
thus establishing that a key role in the modeling, analysis, and
optimization of energy efficiency is played by fractional
programming; a branch of optimization theory specifically concerned
with the properties and optimization of fractional functions. The
monograph introduces fractional programming theory, and illustrates
how it can be used to formulate and handle energy efficiency
optimization problems. It provides a comprehensive introduction to
the theoretical and practical aspects of these problems and
describes the solutions offered with this technique. It will be of
use to all researchers and engineers working on modern
communication systems.
It's time for a beach trip! Red and Rit decide to take a break from
running the apothecary and head to a nearby river for the day.
While Red enjoys a date with a beautiful princess in a swimsuit,
his former party explores the ruins of the Demon Lord's airship. As
war continues to rage on the front lines, it seems everything is
quiet in Zoltan, but how much longer can Red and Rit's slow life
last?
The joy of reuniting with Yarandrala is short lived. From the fate
of the Mistome, to the arrival of a great power's warships, and a
raid from assassins, Zoltan faces one crisis after the other.
Little do the assailants realize, however, that this land is home
to the world's mightiest heroes. In this volume, Red and Ruti
demonstrate their unrivaled power, Tisse squares off against a
legendary assassin, and Rit is imbued with...the senses of a wolf?!
A cold snap in winter leaves the usually warm Zoltan blanketed in
snow, providing Red and Rit with the perfect excuse to get cozy
with each other. At the same time, Ruti, having found a way to free
herself from the restraints of her blessing, makes her way to
Zoltan in search of Red. Will this powerful little sister finally
reunite with her beloved older brother?
