Public exhibition of risky behavior, poor judgment, and unchecked
egos boosts the "buzz" about our celebrities, athletic icons, and
politicians. Tragically, bad conduct is our best kept public
secret; we all know about it, experience it, and are challenged by
it daily - but we don't publicly acknowledge it; rather, we fear
doing so would reveal us to be insecure and expose us as not being
a good team player. Unfortunately, our lousy social behavior
translates into the playgrounds and campuses of public and private
schools across America - known best as "hazing" at
colleges/university (our institutions of higher learning), and
"bullying" during our pre-K through high school "education." Wesley
Miller shines a light on how this public secret poisons the minds
of middle and senior managers in our workplace; making our lives a
living hell and souring the attitudes we bring home to our
families. Our legends say, "Knowing the true name of a demon is the
way of controlling the beast." Miller gives us those "true names"
so we can free ourselves - and he lets us chuckle while we name our
public secret

Have you ever felt unwanted?
Uncool?
Unworthy?
Unfaithful?
Unloved?
Don't worry. So have I.
We all have.
We live in a broken world, and sometimes the only example of
Jesus Christ that we have, the Church and its people, fails to do
its job.
This book is a step outside of the Christian Spirituality box.
In a society where everyone is frantically attempting to earn their
way into bigger and better things, the church has adopted the idea
that we must earn our way into Salvation, as well. Of course this
isn't what's preached: we all know that we have to believe in our
hearts and confess with our mouths and we're good to go. However,
on a subconscious level we feel that we must clean up our act
before we walk into the sanctuary; we must be near perfect in order
to be Christians.
As you can imagine, this causes problems.
But the truth of the matter is that God accepts us as we are.
Jesus loves us regardless of what we've done and what we will do in
the future, and he's invited us to fearlessly enter into his
family.
