Liquid Leaf is a remarkable gilding paint that contains its own red
primer and film of lustrous gold, premixed into a single liquid. This
is the most effective finish you can use on carved and ornamental
furniture, frames, mouldings, decorative ceilings, lamps, figurines and
objects.
It flows easily onto the surface (with no brush marks), forming a
beautiful, lustrous finish. It is so controllable that it can be used
with striping brush or ruling pen for fine lines and scrolls.
Liquid Leaf can be used on wood, metal, glass, ceramics, papier-mache
and cardboard. It can also be used as an ink. One colour of Liquid Leaf
can be used over another once dry. For air brushing all colours can be
thinned with the Brush Bath.
This easy-to-control one-step paint gives a brilliant sheen without
brassiness, a permanent finish more closely resembling traditional
leafing. A 35ml bottle will cover approximately 2sq/m.
It's fine to apply oil paint over sealed liquid leaf, turpentine will
not reactivate the liquid leaf when sealed. Unsealed liquid leaf will
reactivate if turps is worked into it. Liquid leaf resists tarnishing,
the sealer is an extra protective layer.
Liquid Leaf comes in 8 different metallic shades.
Warning: Contains flammable chemicals or substances that can ignite.
An all-purpose painting paste.
Daler-Rowney Goldfinger is an all-purpose, rub-on metallic paste
available in five finishes. It can be used for anything from the
restoration of antiques to gilding picture frames or for stencilling,
plaster, clay or wood decoration, mouldings for imitation ormolu
furniture, textiles, leather, plastics, model making and greeting cards.
Ideal for framing and painting.
Easy to use, Goldfinger can simply be applied with a soft cloth or
finger and after a short time can be buffed to a fine lustre. It produces
a really professional finish with no signs of metallic particles or
smears. For intricate work, Goldfinger can be thinned with white spirit
or turpentine and used with a brush. To preserve the lustre, Goldfinger
can be treated with Goldfinger Varnish. Daler-Rowney Goldfinger Varnish
effectively protects the lustre of decorative metallic furniture and
metallic picture frames. It is made of premium quality diacatone
alcohol & ethanol which does not dry up easily and can be used
for a long period of time.
Made in England.
Daler-Rowney is particularly proud to continue the long heritage of
manufacturing Goldfinger Paint and Varnish in the United Kingdom.

tool for craftspeople, conservators, gilders, decorative artists,
antique dealers and collectors. This Archetype edition is a facsimile

Roberson Liquid Metals have a rich deep colour and are ideal for a range of applications and surfaces. All colours are intermixable and can be used on surfaces such as plaster, wood, paper & canvas. The paint gives the appearance of metal but will not tarnish and is not required to be varnished.
Roberson Liquid Metals are creamy acrylic colours that can be used on most surfaces including plaster, wood, paper & canvas. The rich, deep colour gives the appearance of metal but it will not tarnish and is not required to be varnished.
The 24 colour range includes 13 shades of gold, brass and bronze; eight shades of silver, pewter and platinum; a steel, a graphite and an interference, glittery colour (called Twinkle).
All colours are intermixable with each other and other acrylic paints. When mixed they add both their colour and their sparkle to other acrylic paints.
The colours are all transparent but in thicker applications they can cover quite well. The paints can be thinned with water and as the paint becomes more transparent the metallic shimmer is still visible. Clean up is with soap and water. If you intend to paint large things, the pots list the paint’s coverage as: 7 square metres per litre
Speciality Colours
Two of the 24 colour range are slightly different to the rest and have slightly different prices:
Twinkle: This variation of liquid metals produces colour changing effects with a hint of glitter. The use of different backgrounds will change the effects, for example dark backgrounds will show the glitter properties whereas light backgrounds provide a colour changing effect dependant on angle of view. It can be added to other colours to create a range of interesting effects.
Solid Silver: This variation of Liquid Metals differs from other silver shades within the range as it contains aluminium particles – this makes the liquid metal more opaque to provide excellent coverage.
