Returning to Geneva and taking over the family business in the early 1930s, Davidoff saw his family’s shop thrive in the haven Switzerland had become for the wealthy in World War II. The marketing of Cuban cigars, his desktop cigar humidor and his writings on cigar smoking and Cuban brands made Davidoff very well known and successful. He sold his business to the Max Oettinger Company in 1970 but stayed on as the ambassador for the Davidoff brand until his death in 1994.
