Essdee Fine Quality British Scraperboard is the standard of excellence in scraperboard, used by illustrators and professional artists around the world. This artist grade board is handmade with a heavy China clay coating on illustration board (heavy card) to ensure a hard, smooth, white coating. Closely spaced lines produce textures and tones. This makes a drawing that is very precise and can be used to create highly detailed, evenly textured, tonal artwork similar to engraving and very high in contrast. The fine detail allows perfect photographic reproduction. Scraperboard is unique and produces dramatic imagery unlike any other medium. The sheets of card are easy to maneuver on your drawing board as some artists turn the paper while they work. The thickness of the ink layer means the artist doesn't remove ink by accident with their fingertips as can happen with other makes of board. Thickness of the board is 12 pt (300 microns). It is also called scratchboard. The ultra-smooth surface is also use as an airbrush and a watercolour surface. Also available is Scraperfoil in aluminium "silver", copper, gold, rainbow and holographic backings coated in black.
A binder medium used with watercolours to slow drying time and increase transparency as well as gloss.

drastically reduce color depth as does matt Medium.* 100% acrylic
polymer varnish. Water soluble when wet. Good chemical and water
resistance when dry.* Dry to a non-tacky, hard, flexible surface
that is resistant to retention of dirt.* Resist discoloring
(non-yellowing, non-fogging) due to humidity, heat and ultraviolet
light.* Depending upon substrate, allows moisture to pass through
(breathable).* Will not crack as surface expands and contracts
during temperature and humidity changes. Applicable for any acrylic
painted surface (flexible and rigid) on canvas, paper, wood, stone,
Plexiglas, etc.* Not for use over oil paint.* Flexible, archival,
non-yellowing and water resistant when dry.* For interior and
exterior useApplication:* Apply as a final varnish over dry acrylic
paint.* Varnish surface and environment must be clean, dry and dust
free.* Acrylic paintings must be completely dried and cured for a
minimum 48-72 hours before varnishing.* Application may be done by
brush or spray. Generally a sprayed application will be thinner,
smoother and more even. Rolling or sponging application is not
recommended.* If more than 1 varnish coat is desired, apply 1-2
coats of Liquitex Gloss Varnish before applying a final coat of
Liquitex matt Varnish.* Caution: Acrylic paints and mediums become
increasingly brittle in cold weather. Do not apply below 60
degrees. Thinning: Do not thin, as it will weaken the varnish film
and adhesion. Removal: Not removable. Do not attempt to remove
these varnishes with harsh solvents. Safety Data Sheet:

The range of 40 colours are chosen according to mass tone (colour from tube), undertone (bias of colour when in a thin film), colour strength, relative opacity and the character of the pigment itself. The resultant colour spectrum ensures the largest number of colours can be mixed.
The Cotman Water Colour range has a more uniform consistency than the Artists' Water Colour range and this benefits beginners as there is less to learn about each individual pigment. The Cotman Water Colour range also relates to the Winsor & Newton Artists' Water Colour range, this enables artists to use colours from both ranges with minimal adjustment to their technique.

Jackson’s Handmade Soft Pastels are high quality, artist grade pastels. There are 200 soft and bright colours in the range, as well as a wide variety of themed selection sets.
Our Soft Pastels are made carefully by hand which makes them very soft with a smooth, buttery consistency. They have a low binder to pigment ratio which makes them rich and luminous, allowing for both subtle and bold mark making.
Their excellent lightfast qualities mean that pastel paintings created with them will not deteriorate over time. The four fluorescent colours are the only exception; like all fluorescent colours they are not lightfast.
The pastels are made solely from pigments, a bentonite clay binder, and calcium carbonate (chalk). Each pastel measures approximately 55mm in length and 15mm in diameter.
