Some angels have four legs and fur! What greater symbol is there of the infinite diversity and unconditional love of the Universe than the animal kingdom? Open your mind to the loving messages of the animal world in this uplifting card deck from best-selling author Radleigh Valentine. In Animal Tarot Cards, best-selling author Radleigh Valentine has lovingly and beautifully merged the rich, time-honored tradition of Tarot for divining answers to life's questions with the power of an animal spirit deck for connecting us to the wisdom of the earthly and mystical realms and the archetypes embodied in the animal world. They’re also teachers who guide us to be present and aware. In this card deck and guidebook, Radleigh Valentine brings you gentle messages from God’s “creatures great and small,” from dogs, cats, horses, birds, and butterflies to tigers, elephants, giraffes, dolphins, and kangaroos, organized by season. As with all his decks, the Animal Tarot Cards are universally positive, loving, and respectful of your spiritual path of joy.
New in paperback: A renowned health authority reveals how we can protect ourselves against the harmful effects of electromagnetic fields. The hazards of electronic pollution may once have been the stuff of science fiction, but now we know they're all too real. And now that 5G ultra-wideband technology is here to stay, the danger is greater than ever. Dr. Joseph Mercola, one of the world's foremost authorities on alternative health, has mined the scientific literature to offer a radical new understanding of how electromagnetic fields impact your body and mind. In this eye-opening guide, now available in paperback for the first time, he reveals: What EMFs (electromagnetic fields) actually are, where you find them in your daily life, and how they affect you The toll that EMFs have been proven to take on human health--and why you've been largely kept in the dark about this threat How you can actually repair the damage done by EMFs at a cellular level Practical strategies to protect yourself and your loved ones from EMFs at home, at work, and out in the world "Dr. Mercola's groundbreaking new book on the health effects of EMFs is both a sobering tale and an effective call to action." -- Thomas Cowan, M.D., author of Vaccines, Autoimmunity, and the Changing Nature of Childhood Illness and Cancer and the New Biology of Water

The Case Study House program (1945-1966) was a unique event in the history of American architecture. Sponsored by Arts & Architecture magazine, the program sought to respond to the postwar building boom with prototype modern homes that could be both easily replicated and readily affordable to the average American. Concentrated on the Los Angeles area, the Case Study Houses included 36 model homes commissioned from such major architects of the day as Richard Neutra, Raphael Soriano, Craig Ellwood, Charles and Ray Eames, Pierre Koenig, Eero Saarinen, A. Quincy Jones, and Ralph Rapson. Their criteria included "using, as far as is practicable, many war-born techniques and materials best suited to the expression of man's life in the modern world." The results of the program would redefine the modern home and extend influence not only across the United States but around the world. This compact guide includes all of the Case Study Houses with over 150 photos and plans, as well as a map showing locations of all sites, including those that no longer exist. About the series Born back in 1985, the Basic Art Series has evolved into the best-selling art book collection ever published. Each book in TASCHEN's Basic Architecture series features: an introduction to the life and work of the architect the major works in chronological order information about the clients, architectural preconditions as well as construction problems and resolutions a list of all the selected works and a map indicating the locations of the best and most famous buildings approximately 120 illustrations (photographs, sketches, drafts, and plans)

There are 12 levels, each with 3 books: a, b, and c. Series a: Gradually introduces new words. Series b: Provides further practise of words featured in the 'a' series. The most famous 18th-century copper engraver, Giovanni Battista Piranesi (1720-1778) made his name with etchings of ancient Rome. His startling, chiaroscuro images imbued the city's archaeological ruins with drama and romance and became favorite souvenirs for the Grand Tourists who traveled Italy in pursuit of classical culture and education. Today, Piranesi is renowned not just for shaping the European imagination of Rome, but also for his elaborate series of fanciful prisons, Carceri, which have influenced generations of creatives since, from the Surrealists to Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Edgar Allan Poe, Jorge Luis Borges, and Franz Kafka. Loosely based on contemporary stage sets rather than the actual dingy dungeons of Piranesi's day, these intricate images defy architectural reality to play instead with perspective, lighting, and scale. Staircases exist on two planes simultaneously; vast, vaulted ceilings seem to soar up to the heavens; interior and exterior distinctions collapse. With a low viewpoint and small, fragile figures, the prison scenes become monstrous megacities of incarceration, celebrated to this day as masterworks of existentialist drama.

A unique fusion of tarot and astrology dedicated to lightworkers and individuals working in service and conscious activism, including tools, contemplative questions, and rituals. 360 Degrees to Freedom is a tarot-astrology devotional of sorts for the helpers and healers of this world—including lightworkers, starseeds, intuitives, creatives, teachers, and other changemakers—who seek to manage the realities of burnout while remaining engaged in creating a more just, peaceful, and equitable world. It does so by introducing the decan system within astrology—in which signs are split into three detailed sections, based on degrees—and explaining how to use them for self-care and personal growth. It also introduces the concept of tarot correspondences, which can be used alongside the decan system in a detailed yearlong journey of reflection that meets readers where they are—searching for answers—and guides them to a place of intuition, wisdom, and integration. Full of tools, contemplative questions, rituals, and tarot exercises—in addition to appendices providing at-a-glance information on the decan system in astrology, tarot meanings, signs, planets, and houses—360 Degrees to Freedom will heal, inspire, and sustain burnt-out lightworkers so that they can, once again, engage in joyful advocacy for justice, peace, and liberation.

Like hardly any other artist of his generation, Wolfgang Tillmans has shaped our perception of the world. From early portraits of his friends to still lifes, travel shots, nudes, landscape and sky photographs, to his abstract work, Tillmans has created a multitude of iconic works in his unmistakable visual language, opening up new paths and possibilities for both photography and contemporary art. In 2000 he was the first photographer and the first non-British person to receive the renowned Turner Prize. His first volume for TASCHEN (1995) shows the young generation of the 1990s, of which Tillmans himself was a member, in clubs, at Gay Pride, at fashion events, and in everyday life. His dense, realistic photographs conjure up tangible utopias of community and society and are important documents of their time as well. With the follow-up volume Burg (1998), Tillmans enriches his subject matter with another array of beautiful, now iconic photographs. In truth study center (2005), his images condense into even more subtle compositions and now stand alongside completely abstract works. Finally, Neue Welt (2012) documents Wolfgang Tillmans' travels around the globe: from London to Tierra del Fuego, India, Papua New Guinea, Saudi Arabia, and Central Africa, we follow his ever-inquisitive eye for the realities of our planet, for social situations with people and markets, technology and architecture, and last but not least, nature and astronomy. For this volume, the artist for the first time made use of the new possibilities of digital photography. This enabled a density of information and incisiveness hardly seen in photographs until then. This 40th-anniversary publication from TASCHEN combines the best of the four books in one volume. Wolfgang Tillmans himself has compiled this edition, partly redesigned it, added some recent works, and written a new foreword. Paging through this collection of images, which spans three decades, there are countless moments to delight in, moments that are held not only in our collective memory but in our individual ones too. About the series TASCHEN is 40! Since we started our work as cultural archaeologists in 1980, TASCHEN has become synonymous with accessible publishing, helping bookworms around the world curate their own library of art, anthropology, and aphrodisia at an unbeatable price. Today we celebrate 40 years of incredible books by staying true to our company credo. The 40 series presents new editions of some of the stars of our program-now more compact, friendly in price, and still realized with the same commitment to impeccable production.
