God Needs You Authority in Prayer will show you how to take hold of God's promises and pray with the authority He wants you to have. You can reign in life and be the overcomer God intends you to be, taking charge of your personal world and changing the world around you. Don't allow sin, Satan, or the circumstances of life to weigh you down. * Beginning with your private world--your thoughts, body, actions, and ultimately your God-ordained destiny--you can take charge. Authority is yours for the taking. * Then, because God established and so honors the principle of authority, He will back you as you walk in the government He has delegated to you for your extended world--your home, family, business, and possessions. * Finally, God's plan is for you to partner with Him on the earth in broader realms of influence and authority--your universal world. Jesus, the sovereign King over the earth, wants to rule institutions, cultures, societies, and governments through you and your prayers. Are you ready to use your God-given authority to further His kingdom?

Where is God when life is filled with so much suffering? How can I be sure of God's presence and affection, even in my pain? Can you believe in God and still wrestle with questions and doubt? These are the questions honestly explored in Relentless. Whether in struggle, illness, death, or failure, the presence of pain causes us to question the presence of God. We pray and watch the sky, crossing our spiritual fingers for hardcore proof of God's nearness. And in the silence, we sense something more sinister: perceived abandonment. But what if we could collect evidence that God hasn't left us? What if we could be absolutely certain of God's presence and affection, strengthening our faith against any assault? Woven throughout Scripture sits a single, extraordinary theme: God is with us. Ours is a God who speaks through burning bushes and leads through pillars of fire, who responds to a broken world by giving himself. Like the Old Testament story of Joshua's altar of twelve stones, Relentless delivers twelve key biblical stories that demonstrate God's unfailing presence. Each chapter offers an invitation to identify a "stone" in your own life as tangible evidence of God's nearness. With the turn of the last page, you will have discovered twelve markers of your own, an altar of memory to carry you through questions and losses, even ones yet to come. For the truth-seekers, those drowning in impossible questions, and those who find themselves swallowed up by the dark, Relentless is an invitation to search for divine presence in our everyday stories. With Michele Cushatt's engaging narrative style, this transformational journey reassures us that God, indeed, is with us.
Pastor and popular Bible teacher Sheryl Brady helps Christians prepare for, recognize, and cultivate the powerful yet easily overlooked moments when God shows up in their lives. Everyone experiences God moments, times when God pulls back the curtain and gives a glimpse of his active presence in their lives. Most of us operate under the misapprehension that these moments are rare occurrences that reveal themselves in grand fashion. We expect bells ringing, lights flashing, and neon signs that point to earthshaking revelations. But God often speaks in whispers, strategically and incrementally unveiling his plans, preparations, and purposes through the most unassuming circumstances. The key is to learn how to prepare for, recognize, and be faithful in these moments. In Don't Miss the Moment, Pastor Sheryl Brady reminds Christians that God is real and unwaveringly present in our daily lives. Through biblical teaching and personal stories of God showing up in times of need, she shows how to pursue deeper relationship with the Faithful One so that we can learn to hear his voice and feel his leading, discern when we are in a defining moment, and redirect our hearts and lives toward his plans and purposes.
What do you pray when times get tough? When you're stressed or depressed, when life is overwhelming or disappointing, when you feel like giving up? In these challenging times you need to pray with wild hope, says Jackie M. Johnson. With encouraging stories, Scriptures, and prayers, Johnson shows readers how to pray for focus, wisdom, confidence, courage, grace, strength, meaning, and much more. Conveniently structured so that readers can go directly to the chapter that addresses their particular situation, this book will be a lifeline to peace for those who need God's touch.
Pray Circles Around Your Greatest Dreams and Biggest Fears Prayer can sometimes be a frightening thing-how do you approach the maker of the world, and what exactly can you pray for? In this student adaptation of The Circle Maker, Pastor Mark Batterson uses the true legend of Honi the circle maker, a first-century Jewish sage whose bold prayer saved a generation, to uncover the boldness God asks of us at times, and what powerful prayer can mean in your life. Drawing inspiration from his own experiences as a circle maker, as well as sharing stories of young people who have experienced God's blessings, Batterson explores how you can approach God in a new way by drawing prayer circles around your dreams, your problems, and, most importantly, God's promises. In the process, you'll discover this simple yet life-changing truth: God honors bold prayers; bold prayers honor God. And you're never too young for God to use you for amazing things. Updated with discussion questions that tie to the Circle Maker video curriculum.
Prayer is one of the most powerful, life-changing things we will ever do, and yet we often struggle. It's hard to find the time. It's repetitive, we get distracted and sometimes even bored. And the answers often feel few and far between. In this companion study guide to Praying Women, bestselling author Sheila Walsh shares practical helps directly from God's Word, showing you how to know what to say, how to pray as a joy-filled warrior, and how to let go of the past and stand on God's promises for you now.
When life sends us trouble, we should pray. When we experience blessings, we should pray. When a friend or loved one is going through a difficult time, we should pray. We know this. Yet too often we don't know exactly what to say--so we say nothing. Drawing from her many popular books on prayer, Linda Evans Shepherd offers you a compact, giftable compilation of powerful prayers arranged by topic, so you can find the words to ask God for help, consolation, wisdom, and many other needs for yourself or others. Covering such concerns as stress, anxiety, hard times, illness, and much more, the prayers in this book will be the ones you turn to again and again as you walk through life with the ones you love.
Fr. Thomas Dubay, one of the most popular and respected retreat masters and spirtual directors in the USA, is the author of the perennial best-selling book on prayer and contemplation, Fire Within. In this book, he responds to the call of both Pope John Paul II and Benedict XVI to priests to help believers and all spiritual seekers develop a deeper prayer life and union with God. As in his other popular writings, Dubay speaks in terms clear and readable, though profound and meditative. He gives an overview of the spiritual life and jounrey for anyone seeking to grow in the love of God and neighbor. An expert on the teachings and writings of the two great mystical doctors of prayer and the spiritual life, Teresa of Avila and John of the Cross, Dubay gives solid practical advice for a deepening moral and spiritual conversion, and a radical growth in holiness.
Praying is a problem for many people. Christians often go through the motions of prayer because it is expected of them, but they are often left wondering, "Did God hear me? Does he even care?" In his book Praying the Lord's Prayer, an excerpt from Growing in Christ, J. I. Packer presents a powerful truth: prayer is a natural activity between the Heavenly Father and his children. As Packer works through each phrase of Christ's pattern of prayer, readers will begin to grasp the basic principles and guidelines of prayer. As readers apply the truths of this book to their prayer lives, they will experience intimate communication with God and will strengthen their own conversations with their Father in heaven.

Illuminates the spiritual journey we all take and the choices we all take and the choices we make by focusing on five of the monastic hours, from Vigils which reflect on the edges of the day and our own difficulty in choosing to begin the journey, through Compline or night prayer, the time for letting go and remembering the reality of death. Full of humor and eloquently written, Crossing shows Christians how to bring faith and human experience together."
Prayer can be so much more than a simple conversation. It can be a wordless connection with God, a step beyond the boundary of the separated self. It can be a way to listen to the silence. "And it can be learned." We can learn how to pray in ways we never thought possible. It doesn't take more effort; it takes more understanding. Wilson's book shows how the brain is designed by God To calm itself To relax into love To become increasingly aware of how connected everything is in God To experience a deeper intimacy with our creator Prayer is something that our brains "want" to do with a little help. Ken Wilson tells us how. Praise for "Mystically Wired" "Smart, savvy, candid, credible, unafraid, self-effacing, and shot through with passionate love of Jesus . . . yes, hands down, this is the best book on prayer that I have ever read. -- Phyllis Tickle "Compiler, The Words" "of Jesus: A Gospel of the" "Sayings of Our Lord" "I confess, I don't normally like books on prayer, but "Mystically ""Wired "is a big exception. While this book is incredibly practical, I was routinely blown away by the intuitive genius of Ken's view and application of prayer. Page after page, thinking I knew what was next, I was surprised with fresh insight and unique perspectives on connecting with God. Being an evangelist, I was excited to realize I could also send this to spiritual friends who don't follow Jesus as a way to introduce him." -- R. York Moore "National Evangelist" "InterVarsity Christian" "Fellowship USA" "It began the day Jesus' disciples came to him and asked, 'Lord, teach us to pray.' Ever since, Christ-followers have been wanting to learn the ways of prayer. Ken Wilson's "Mystically Wired "is an extraordinary contribution to that learning tradition. It's a wonderful read that leaves you feeling, 'Yes, this is for me. Yes, I can do this. Yes, it's within reach.'" -- Brian McLaren "Author/Speaker/Activist" "I wandered away from religion because religion thought it had all the answers. Pastor Ken Wilson, though, understands that life and faith are really about having the right questions. If you want to pray for favors, put this book down now. If you want the answers, the help here is only partial. But if you're looking for a wide-ranging inquiry, and a path that can bring you closer to the mystery--without the mumbo-jumbo--delve within." -- Carl Safina "Author, Song for the Blue ""Ocean and The View From ""Lazy Point" ""Mystically Wired "was a breath of fresh apologetic air for me. I pray and I experience God, and I find fixed hour prayer deeply meaningful, but this book shows that God made us to do such things and our brain is wired to communicate with God." -- Scot McKnight "Karl A. Olsson Professor in" "Religious Studies" "North Park University" "In my library there are scores of books on prayer--by legends and modern guides as well. It is not easy to make a genuine contribution to this body of literature. But Ken Wilson has done so. "Mystically Wired "manages to bring together the best of the sciences and philosophies of mind, brain, and consciousness with deep spirituality and candid personal reflection. While it will happily fit my on my shelf, it fits best in a heart yearning to pray." -- Todd Hunter "Anglican Bishop" "Ken Wilson's new book is fascinating intellectually and engaging spiritually. Its theme is a great discussion starter with Christians and non-Christians alike " -- Dr. Joel C. Hunter "Senior Pastor" "Northland, A Church" """Distributed"
In his new book "Oraciones que traen sanindad," John Eckhardt
wants you to know that no matter what your sickness, no matter who
you are, it is God's will for you to live a full, healthy,
disease-free life. When Jesus came to a town preaching the coming
of the kingdom of God, not only did He heal everyone who came to
Him but he also healed "all manner of sickness." This means that
there is no sickness, disease, or infirmity God can't or won't
heal. When the doctors tell you that you have an incurable disease,
know that it is not incurable for Jesus. There is nothing too hard
for God. In this book you will discover twelve ways healing takes
place. They include: Healing through the laying on of hands (Luke 4:40) Healing through deliverance (Matt 8:16) Healing through breaking curses (Gal. 3:13 Healing through anointing oil (Mark 6:1) Healing through faith (Mark 11:23) Healing through prayer (Matt 21:22) |
