Many more philosophic minds than mine have thought over the religious side of this subject and many more scientific brains have turned their attention to its phenomenal aspect. So far as I know, however, there has been no former attempt to show the exact relation of the one to the other. I feel that if I should succeed in making this a little more clear I shall have helped in what I regard as far the most important question with which the human race is concerned. A celebrated Psychic, Mrs. Piper, uttered, in the year 1899 words which were recorded by Dr. Hodgson at the time. She was speaking in trance upon the future of spiritual religion, and she said: 'In the next century this will be astonishingly perceptible to the minds of men. I will also make a statement which you will surely see verified. Before the clear revelation of spirit communication there will be a terrible war in different parts of the world. The entire world must be purified and cleansed before mortal can see, through his spiritual vision, his friends on this side and it will take just this line of action to bring about a state of perfection. Friend, kindly think of this.' We have had 'the terrible war in different parts of the world.' The second half remains to be fulfilled.
Are you out of your body? At least part of you may be, if consciousness can extend beyond the brain in your skull. In "Science and Spirit," authors Charles F. Emmons and Penelope Emmons explore some intriguing questions: What evidence is there for consciousness apart from the body, and what evidence is there for survival of consciousness after bodily death? Through ethnographic interviews with scientists, observations at conferences, and visits to research institutes, they investigate the existence and meaning of ESP, out-of-body experiences, near-death experiences, reincarnation, spirit mediumship, lucid dreaming, and ghost experiences. In this study, they share a variety of scientific frames for looking at these questions and happenings, and they disclose their own paranormal experiences. "Science and Spirit" uses a unique blend of strong academic and scientific theory and methodology and applies it to the examination of paranormal topics.
2014 Reprint of 1930 Edition. Full facsimile of the original edition, not reproduced with Optical Recognition Software. On April 10, 1912, Stead boarded the S.S. Titanic bound from Southampton to New York, to take part in a peace congress at Carnegie Hall. On the morning of April 15 the ship struck an iceberg and Stead, along with hundreds of others, drowned. At that time his daughter, Estelle, an actress and also a spiritualist, was on tour with her own Shakespearean company. Amongst its members was a psychically gifted man named Pardoe Woodman, who foretold the disaster as they sat talking after tea. Through Woodman's clairvoyant powers W. T. Stead was able to communicate the messages contained in "The Blue Island." Ten years after the Titanic went down, Stead's daughter Estelle published "The Blue Island: Experiences of a New Arrival Beyond the Veil," which purported to be a communication with Stead via a medium, Pardoe Woodman. In the book, Stead described his death at sea and discussed the nature of the afterlife. The manuscript was produced using automatic writing.

(ENGLISH VERSION) All the methods of restoration of human matter with the help of concentration on number sequences given in this book can be used with preventive and sanitary purposes, for rejuvenation, and in case of necessity, to restore the matter, regardless of the initial data, on the basis of which the matter is restored. When using the described methods in paragraphs 1-9 in the introduction you can consider the following: -With the aim of prophylaxis it is expedient to make rehabilitation with the simultaneous spreading the effect of concentration on number sequences for the future. -For rejuvenation it is expedient to concentrate in succession at first on the number sequence, located in the content (of the book), taking into account the task of eternal development, and then concentrate on the matter which you are locally rejuvenating. -Restoring the matter of the body, you can perform concentration on number sequences in succession with the help of the various methods given in this book. You can use the number sequences corresponding to the matter being restored, as well as the number sequences of the area, which includes the matter you are restoring. -If it is necessary to restore the matter after biological death, then you should at first concentrate on the numbers consecutively from left to right, then in reverse order - from right to left. The spiritual impulse creating human matter makes it possible to expand the methods of restoration. Restoring the human matter one must strive to develop the spiritual level to the state in which the matter is created and functions by the spiritual activity, along with the biological principles and principles of events. Such spiritual state in the process of implementation of the methods of the eternal development must ensure full restoration of human matter, regardless of the initial data and any circumstances.

Based on her personal experiences and observations of energy and psychic phenomena and the manner in which they are delivered, psychic Suzanne Newnham offers this guide designed to help people expand their understanding of the world related to psychic and energetic phenomena. Organised into three easy-to-follow sections, Ethics of a Psychic Reading will help both amateur and professional messengers build their knowledge base. The first section clarifies terminology used when speaking about the psychic world, including terms used to describe the various types and styles of psychic connection, tools used for psychic readings and healing, and techniques utilizing psychic communication. The second section looks at style and the delivery of readings. The third section addresses other aspects that are important when looking at the complexities and the ethics of a psychic reading. This guide, presented from a psychic's perspective, seeks to make the most of giving paranormal messages and understanding possible ways a client might receive those messages. A summary is included at the end of most chapters to offer concise points for study and to facilitate discussion. Ethics of a Psychic Reading is also designed to elicit questions that will encourage readers to develop their own awareness based on responses and to be mindful of some of the truths and inaccuracies that surround an esoteric subject.

Before answering a ringing telephone, do you already know ho is calling? What about the "sudden" urge to check on your child in another room-only to find he is about to stick a bobby pin into an electrical socket? Welcome to the world of spiritually transformative experiences, or STEs. A Glimpse of Heaven, by Carla Wills-Brandon, Ph.D. explores premonitions of disaster, death-related visions, prophetic and visionary dreams, pets with a "sixth sense," and communications from those who have died. These STE's, although almost impossible to prove in a science laboratory, happen all over the world every day. These experiences suggest not just an afterlife, but an extra life - a realm that lies beyond our own three dimensions, yet that is capable of interfacing with our ordinary lives. Wills-Brandon has had her fair share of STE's and feels that having them validated by others adds weight to their testimony. Here is one of her personal examples. My two sons loved their grandfather. Several weeks before [his] passing, my youngest son made an announcement. While traveling to the grocery store, he informed me that there was a "red-haired kid" sitting with him in the backset of the car. "Honey, what's your friend's name?" I asked. While pulling at the legs of his [toy] dinosaur, Josh looked at the seat beside him and answered, "Who, him? That kid? His name is Damus." "Sweetie, how long has Damus been around?" I asked. "Oh, Damus just got here a few days ago," answered my son. He came here for Da! [their name for their grandfather]" Wills-Brandon then asked her friend, Rabbi Jimmy, if he had ever heard the term "Damus." He looked up and said, "Sure, Damus or Damas translates to 'messenger of death,' a positive being who assists the dying. Where did you hear this term? It isn't that common." Shortly afterwards, Da passed away...and Wills-Brandon's son received no more visits from Damus. A Glimpse of Heaven is filled with incredible experiences and life-changing anecdotes from people around the world. STE's provide evidence that we are all connected by the strings of a fantastic and vast universe that works in ways we are only beginning to understand.

Mystery Time An American microbiologist dies on stage as he is about to lecture at a scientific congress in Prague, an apparent victim of local criminals. Professor Hildegard Kraus from Heidelberg and her Hungarian born colleague Alex Kertesz from Jerusalem, who hear his last words, are left wondering whether one the the assembled scientists might be the real killer. Whoever it was has also taken Hildegard's watch, a treasured family keepsake with an intriguing history. Booklist said about The Wish to Kill, the first Alex Kertesz mystery, "First novelist Hannah has hit upon an engaging premise;a mystery series starring a research scientist working at the University of Jerusalem. She has the makings of a good series: a sympathetic hero and an intriguing, nicely evoked setting." Murder with a French Accent, the second book in the series, takes Alex to a biotech company in Toulouse which runs into trouble trying to produce a genetically engineered strain of bacteria that he created. In Mystery Time, book number three, Alex and Hildegard are faced with two mysteries. One involves the death of their colleague and the other is the mystery surrounding the old watch and its special relationship to time.
I DO not expect this book to stand upon its literary merits; for if it is unsound in principle, felicity of diction cannot save it, and if sound, homeliness of expression cannot destroy it. My primary object in offering it to the public is to assist in bringing Psychology within the domain of the exact sciences. That this has never been accomplished is owing to the fact that no successful attempt has been made to formulate a working hypothesis sufficiently comprehensive to embrace all psychic phenomena. Sincerely believing in the correctness of my hypothesis, I have not hesitated to follow it to its legitimate conclusion in every field which I have entered. If at the close of the book I have seemed to trespass upon the forbidden field of theological discussion, it was not for the purpose of sustaining any preconceived opinions of my own; far from it. It was because I was irresistibly led to my conclusions by the terms of my hypothesis and the inflexible logic of its application. I cannot but be aware that my conclusions sometimes oppose the preconceived opinions of others. But no one who accepts my hypothesis as the true one will be compelled more frequently than I have been to renounce his former convictions.
