Red Leech, is the second in the Young Sherlock Holmes series in
which the iconic detective is reimagined as a brilliant, troubled
and engaging teenager - creating unputdownable detective adventures
that remain true to the spirit of the original books. Sherlock
Holmes knows that Amyus Crow, his mysterious American tutor, has
some dark secrets. But he didn't expect to find a notorious killer,
hanged by the US government, apparently alive and well in Surrey -
and Crow somehow mixed up in it. When no one will tell you the
truth, sometimes you have to risk all to discover it for yourself.
And so begins an adventure that will take Sherlock across the ocean
to America, to the centre of a deadly web - where life and death
are cheap, and truth has a price no sane person would pay . . .
Sherlock Holmes. Think you know him? Think again. Continue the
investigative adventures with Andrew Lane's Black Ice and Fire
Storm.
Children born into the Regis clan on Friday, July 13, might notice
that there's something a little different about them. And
ten-year-old twins, Asa and Birdie Regis, are about to find out
what it is. Asa and Birdie learn from their Grandpa Carleton that
they are blessed with superpowers. These powers, Grandpa explains,
can only be used to help other children in need. The twins soon
begin using their skills to help children all across the country-to
Texas where Michael is being bullied, to Florida where Jackson is
stuffed in a school locker, and to California to aid Kurt who is
having problems in school. Asa and Birdie are faced with
challenging choices as they help children from all walks of life.
But as their special powers won't last forever, Asa and Birdie may
have to be heroes without using any powers. Do they have what it
takes?
Movie tie-in edition of the No. 1 New York Times bestseller and Waterstones Children's Book Prize winner, now a major motion picture from Twentieth Century Fox, starring Amandla Stenberg.
Sixteen-year-old Starr lives in two worlds: the poor neighbourhood where she was born and raised and her posh high school in the suburbs. The uneasy balance between them is shattered when Starr is the only witness to the fatal shooting of her unarmed best friend, Khalil, by a police officer. Now what Starr says could destroy her community. It could also get her killed.
Inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement, this is a powerful and gripping novel about one girl's struggle for justice.

Claudia knew that she could never pull off the old-fashioned kind of running away...so she decided not to run FROM somewhere, but TO somewhere. And so, after some careful planning, she and her younger brother, Jamie, escaped -- right into a mystery that made headlines!
Ben and Martie Marshall did not intend to be heroes when they
rescued vacationing honeymooners from a capsized boat on
Australia's Great Barrier Reef. But when a group of divers radios
for help during a storm, the Coastal Patrol calls on the American
teenagers to help with another daring rescue. Upon hearing of the
ill-fated diving trip, some locals say it's the result of a deadly
curse that has plagued Durgan's Reef for years. But the Marshalls
prefer a natural explanation over a supernatural folk tale. With
their new friends, including the coastal patrolmen, an eccentric
librarian, a renowned marine biology professor, and a handsome
Aussie teen, the Marshalls set out to solve the mystery. Before
it's over, they must rely on their courage, their wits, and their
faith in God to win their fight for survival against unforeseen
dangers. Set against the dramatic backdrop of Australia's rugged
coast, and the breathtaking beauty of the world's largest coral
reef system, The Curse of Durgan's Reef paints a vivid portrait of
heart-pounding adventure and life-or-death struggles amid the
island continent's magnificent natural wonders.

So I agreed to play the part of Esther Rackham in a film about the
heist that gave River Heights its name, and there was all this
trouble on the set, and I figured out who was behind it. Case
closed, right?
Wrong
Once the camera starts rolling, a huge fire breaks out on the set,
setting back production "again." We're running out of time and
funds. At least the fire turns up a key clue about who started it,
but I'll have to continue juggling acting and sleuthing. Because it
might be up to me to save this film from going up in flames....
