The American choreographer Alonzo King showcases his Lines Ballet
company with three contemporary works - 'Triangle of the
Squinches', 'Dust and Light' and 'Scherezade'.
The Bolshoi Ballet perform Yuri Grigorovich's version of the ballet
by Adolphe Adam. Svetlana Lunkina plays the title role with Dmitry
Gudanov as Count Albrecht and Maria Allash as the Queen of the
Wilis. When young peasant girl Giselle discovers that her lover,
Albrecht, is actually a nobleman in disguise who is due to be
married, she dies from despair. But when Albrecht's life is
threatened by the evil Wilis clan, Giselle's spirit returns to save
him. Pavel Klinichev conducts the Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra.
A two-volume set of documentaries profiling one of the world's most
famous and highly respected ballet dancers, Sylvie Guillem. 'At
Work' follows the prima ballerina in her daily round of classes,
rehearsals and performances, as well as featuring her performing in
some of her outstanding roles. 'Portrait' features Guillem talking
about her work with the world's great choreographers, and captures
the ballerina as she rehearses and performs a range of dances, both
classical and contemporary.
A documentary profile of the prolific Czech choreographer. Filmed
in Den Haag, Prague and Paris, Kylián's life, creative process and
dances are examined in a rare portrait.

Bolshoi Ballet with Tchaikovsky's score conducted by Pavel

dancers include Nina Kaptsova, Artem Ovcharenko and Denis Savin.

Peace at the Abu Dhabi Festival in 2011. Works performed include

Los Angeles Opera's productions of two works by composers who died
during the Holocaust, Victor Ullmann's 'Der Zerbrochene Krug', and
Alexander Zemlinsky's 'Der Zwerg'. Recorded in 2008, the
productions feature the Los Angeles Opera and Choir conducted by
James Conlon.

American soprano Renée Fleming performs a selection of songs by
