Made-for-television film adaptation of Edith Nesbit' s classic novel. When their father (Michael Kitchen) is imprisoned after being falsely accused of spying, young Bobbie, Peter and Phyllis are forced to move to Yorkshire with their mother (Jenny Agutter, who played Bobbie in the 1971 film version). The local railway provides a useful focus for them, and they strike up a friendship with an elderly gentleman (Richard Attenborough) who vows to help them prove their father's innocence.

Former SAS sergeant Andy McNab co-scripts this drama, based on his own experiences in the Gulf War. In January 1991, an eight-man SAS team infiltrate the Iraqi lines, with the purpose of taking out the scud missiles aimed by Saddam Hussein at Tel Aviv. In charge is Sergeant McNab (Sean Bean), who has to think fast when his squad are surrounded by two divisions of Iraqi troops, with no radio contact and sub-zero temperatures freezing their fuel supplies.
As we return to Portwenn, all is not well with Doc Martin. With his career still under scrutiny due to his blood phobia, Dr Rebecca Hedden from the General Medical Council arrives to assess his bedside manner and determine if he is still fit to practise. Meanwhile Al and Bert are making a success of running the Crab and Lobster, leaving Morwenna feeling a little neglected; Mrs Tishell has a new lease of life following Clive's death and decides to try dating again; and Penhale's authority is challenged when his predecessor returns. However, could an accidental proposal have wedding bells ringing in the village of Portwenn?
