Counter-intelligence agent Jacob Welker recruits a number of
civilians to help foil a suspected terrorist attack by German spies
in New York in 1938. March, 1938. Otto Lehman arrives in New York
on the S.S. Osthafen to be immediately confronted by two men with
FBI badges . . . only, that isn't his real name and the men aren't
with the FBI. The next day Lehman is found tied to a chair, beaten
to death and naked, in an abandoned Brooklyn warehouse. The sole
witness to the crime, Andrew Blake, a homeless man struggling
through the Great Depression, claims those responsible were
speaking German. With the threat of the perpetrators being Nazis,
President Roosevelt's own covert counter-intelligence agent Jacob
Welker is brought in to investigate. Welker recruits Blake along
with Lord Geoffrey Saboy, a British 'cultural attache', and his
wife Lady Patricia, to help him to thwart a Nazi terrorist attack.
But who exactly are the Nazis, what is their target and when will
they strike?

Bletchley Park: the top-secret landmark of World War Two, where a
group of young people were fighting to defeat Hitler, and win the
war. March 1943, the Second World War hangs in the balance, and at
Bletchley Park a brilliant young codebreaker is facing a double
nightmare. The Germans have unaccountably changed their U-boat
Enigma code, threatening a massive Allied defeat. And as suspicion
grows that there may be a spy inside Bletchley, Jericho's
girlfriend, the beautiful and mysterious Claire Romilly suddenly
disappears.
How can he forget the past when it's out to kill him? Former
special-ops soldier and now an analyst for the think tank Vektor,
Max Anger would kill to move on from the scars of his past-if only
for the sake of Pashie, his girlfriend and fellow operative, who
wants out of the battle zone. For them, a normal life is just one
more dangerous uncertainty. Especially now that evil is hitting
closer to home. Sofia Karlsson of the Swedish police wants Max's
help in a high-profile and high-stakes murder investigation: the
hunt for a serial killer stalking the streets of Stockholm, who's
eliminating his victims in gruesome and tantalizingly clever ways.
When Max discovers his connection to two of the crime scenes, his
investigation uncovers what could be the most shameful episode in
Sweden's history. The deeper he gets, the harder it becomes to
distance himself from the dark sins of the past-and to secure a
future with the woman he loves. For Max, and for the killer, the
countdown to a terrifying end begins.

In his final hours in office, the outgoing President grants a
controversial last-minute pardon to Joel Backman, a notorious
Washington power broker who has spent the last six years hidden
away in a federal prison. What no one knows is that the President
issues the pardon only after receiving enormous pressure from the
CIA. It seems that Backman, in his heyday, may have obtained
secrets that compromise the world's most sophisticated satellite
surveillance system.
Backman is quietly smuggled out of the country in a military cargo
plane, given a new name, a new identity, and a new home in Italy.
Eventually, after he has settled into his new life, the CIA will
leak his whereabouts to the Israelis, the Russians, the Chinese,
and the Saudis. Then the CIA will do what it does best: sit back
and watch. The question is not whether Backman will survive--there
is no chance of that. The question the CIA needs answered is, Who
will kill him?

not dead at all? So begins a game of cat-and-mouse that takes Max
across Russia, from St Petersburg to Novosibirsk, as he follows his
only clue: a rare Siberian diamond. With all the breathless tension
of classic espionage novels, Moscow at Midnight is both humorous

The pulse-pounding new thriller featuring Cotton Malone. Perfect
for fans of Dan Brown, Sam Bourne and Scott Mariani. The pope is
dead. Cardinals are beginning to arrive at the Vatican to select
his replacement, but one has fled for Malta in search of a document
that dates back to the 4th century and Constantine the Great.
Former Justice Department operative Cotton Malone is in Italy, on
the trail of legendary letters between Winston Churchill and Benito
Mussolini that could re-write history. But someone else is after
the same letters and, when Malone obtains and then loses them, he's
plunged into a hunt that draws the attention of the legendary
Knights of Malta. The knights are the only warrior-monks to survive
into modern times. Now they are a global humanitarian organization,
but within their ranks lurks the Secreti - an ancient sect intent
on affecting the coming papal conclave. Malone races the rogue
cardinal, the knights, the Secreti, and the clock to find what has
been lost for centuries. Meanwhile, the election of the next pope
hangs in the balance.
The discovery of a body on a local allotment site re-opens an
unresolved cold case for Monika Paniatowski and her team. He was
going to have to terminate Monika, he decided. It was a pity, but

lies paralysed - Monika begins to see possible links with a case
she closed four years earlier. Are the two cases connected? Did the
first murder make the second almost inevitable? She doesn't know,
but she does know that she is being watched by an old enemy who

her thoughts and information with her team.

The third in the late Philip Kerr's universally acclaimed Berlin
Noir trilogy, A German Requiem sees detective Bernie Gunther enter
the new and terrifying world of post-war Vienna. In the bitter
winter of 1947 the Russian Zone is closing ever more tightly around
Berlin. So when an enigmatic Russian colonel asks Bernie Gunther to
go to Vienna, where his ex-Kripo colleague Emil Becker faces a
murder charge, Bernie doesn't hesitate for long. Despite Becker's
unsavoury past, Gunther is convinced that shooting an American
Nazi-hunter is one crime he didn't commit. But Vienna is not the
peaceful haven Bernie expects it to be. Communism is the new enemy,
and with the Nuremberg trials over, some strange alliances are
being forged against the Red Menace - alignments that make many
wartime atrocities look lily-white by comparison. Vividly evoking
the atmosphere of postwar Vienna, A Germen Requiem brings all
Philip Kerr's pace and mordant wit to the tangle of guilt,
suspicion, and double-dealing that laid the foundations for the
Cold War. 'For Christmas, I would like all of Philip Kerr's Berlin
Noir novels' Sam Mendes, Guardian 'Philip Kerr is the contemporary
master of the morally complex thriller' New York Observer
