A Times/Sunday Times Book of the Year DISCOVER HOW LIFE REALLY
WORKS - ON EARTH AND IN SPACE 'A wonderfully insightful sidelong
look at Earthly biology' Richard Dawkins 'Crawls with curious
facts' Sunday Times _________________________ We are unprepared for
the greatest discovery of modern science. Scientists are confident
that there is alien life across the universe yet we have not moved
beyond our perception of 'aliens' as Hollywood stereotypes. The
time has come to abandon our fixation on alien monsters and place
our expectations on solid scientific footing. Using his own expert
understanding of life on Earth and Darwin's theory of evolution -
which applies throughout the universe - Cambridge zoologist Dr Arik
Kershenbaum explains what alien life must be like. This is the
story of how life really works, on Earth and in space.
_________________________ 'An entertaining, eye-opening and, above
all, a hopeful view of what - or who - might be out there in the
cosmos' Philip Ball, author of Nature's Patterns 'A fascinating
insight into the deepest of questions: what might an alien actually
look like' Lewis Dartnell, author of Origins 'If you don't want to
be surprised by extraterrestrial life, look no further than this
lively overview of the laws of evolution that have produced life on
earth' Frans de Waal, author of Mama's Last Hug
Sharing more than 200 never-before-published full-color photographs
from his personal archives, bestselling author Erich von Daniken
provides clear evidence of ancient alien contact and technology
among the archaeological sites of the Maya as well as other ancient
cultures, such as the Aztecs and the Hindus. He reveals how the
"gods" immortalized in Maya sculptures, carved reliefs, and myth
were not supernatural beings but technologically advanced visitors,
astronauts who gifted the Maya with their sophisticated
understanding of calendar time and cosmology. He explains how, with
no explanation for their technologies and origins, the Maya
interpreted the visitors as divine and, thus, the "gods" were born.
Offering visual proof of the ancient world's contact with advanced
alien visitors they recorded as gods and teachers, von Daniken also
raises the question of the "heavenly" origins of royal families and
dynasties in Mesoamerica, Egypt, and beyond, revealing how the
Mayan kings of Palenque and the pharaohs of Egypt may be
descendants of the "gods."
The two most fascinating questions about extraterrestrial life are
where it is found and what it is like. In particular, from our
Earth-based vantage point, we are keen to know where the closest
life to us is, and how similar it might be to life on our home
planet. This book deals with both of these key issues. It considers
possible homes for life, with a focus on Earth-like exoplanets. And
it examines the possibility that life elsewhere might be similar to
life here, due to the existence of parallel environments, which may
result in Darwinian selection producing parallel trees of life
between one planet and another. Understanding Life in the Universe
provides an engaging and myth-busting overview for any reader
interested in the existence and nature of extraterrestrial life,
and the realistic possibility of discovering credible evidence for
it in the near future.
If only the war had lasted another six months, then Hitler would
have won ... because his scientists stood upon the very brink of
inventing flying saucers. That, at least, is the myth as it is
currently being peddled today, in books, pamphlets and online; and,
if it were true, squadrons of Luftwaffe spacecraft would certainly
have made mincemeat out of British Spitfires and American B-52s.
But, of course, it is a complete fiction. And yet the sinister myth
of Nazi UFOs is surprisingly well developed. If you listen to its
champions, escaped Nazis and their indoctrinated offspring are
simply hiding in secret Antarctic bases, inside the Hollow Earth,
somewhere upon another planet, or even within another dimension,
just waiting for the right time to strike again - and this time,
armed with saucers and in close alliance with Aryans from other
star systems, they stand poised to finish what they started. Some
even claim that Hitler and his chief henchmen did not really die in
1945, but were borne away in spirit on flying saucers. Such
theories seem insane - but do they have a hidden purpose? White
supremacists around the globe have adopted Nazi ufology to draw the
gullible into the wider orbit of Far-Right ideology; after all, if
the standard version of history is so wrong as to fail to
acknowledge that Hitler helped invent UFOs, then what else might
historians have got wrong about the Third Reich? Might the Nazis
actually have been right all along? Could the Holocaust have been a
total hoax? Once they have swallowed the first lie, a person might
easily swallow several others. The stories in this book are
bizarre: Nazi saucer-pilots fighting alongside Saddam Hussein in
the first Gulf War; alien boot-prints whose soles bear swastikas
being found in the wake of UFO-landings; the leader of America's
Nazi Silvershirts claiming to be in psychic contact with men from
other galaxies; and Allied pilots being buzzed by fiery glowing
'foo fighters' during the Second World War. They may seem harmless
at first, but they are not. Is it really the white race's destiny
to conquer the icy reaches of space under the banner of the 'Aryan
world spirit'? Perhaps not, but the conquest of their victims'
inner space, not outer space, in the name of Hitlerism is what
these latter-day Goebbels truly desire.

We have neighbors in the universe. Does it Rain in Other
Dimensions? This title describes one man's experience of
communicating and working with other-dimensional and
extra-terrestrial beings over a 50 year period. It shows how he
worked through the fear some experiences engendered to find a new
spiritual perspective. Use the symbols in this book, that were
given to the author by Light Beings, to aid your own
consciousness-awakening process and be ready for the coming Shift.
The Raelians came to the attention of the world in 2002 when the
spokesperson for Clonaid, a company founded by Raelian followers,
announced that the first human clone had been born--a claim that
although has not been independently substantiated, prompted outrage
and condemnation from scientists, religious organizations, and the
White House. Aliens Adored is the first full length, in-depth look
at the Raelian movement, a fascinating new religion founded in the
1970s by charismatic prophet, Rael. Born in France as Claude
Vorilhon, the former race-car driver started the religion after he
experienced a visitation from the aliens (the "elohim") who, in his
cosmology, created humans by cloning themselves. The millenarian
movement awaits the return of the alien creators, and in the
meantime seeks to develop the potential of its adherents through
free love, sexual experimentation, opposition to nuclear
proliferation and war, and the development of the science of
cloning. Sociologist Susan J. Palmer has studied the Raelian
movement for more than a decade, observing meetings and rituals,
and enjoying unprecedented access to the group's leaders as well as
to its rank-and-file members. In Aliens Adored she provides a
thorough analysis of the movement, focusing on issues of sexuality,
millenarianism, and the impact of the scientific worldview on
religion and the environment. Palmer traces Rael's philosophy and
the formation of the Raelian subculture. Rael's radical sexual
ethics, his gnostic anthropocentricism, and shallow ecotheology
offer us a mirror through which we see how our worldviews have been
shaped by the forces of globalization, postmodernism, and secular
humanism.
The existence of UFOs is a phenomenon that intrigues and
captivates, yet it generates more scepticism than acceptance.
Witnesses of unconventional craft are often disbelieved and even
ridiculed. Belief in the existence of UFOs is obviously not yet
mainstream, but that may one day change. Over the past few decades,
reports of UFO sightings have dramatically increased in North
America. Further, these sightings have been observed to be more
blatant and even menacing. Some reports even imply that these craft
are monitoring our planet. This book explores the details of
numerous sightings from a scientific viewpoint, including
descriptions of craft, luminous sheaths and fireballs. Johnstone
suggests that military and government agencies have the ability to
manipulate weather electromagnetically and with chemtrails to deter
unconventional craft. This hypothesis also explains erratic changes
in the weather in the last few years. Is the US government creating
a weather shield to deter UFOs from entering the earth's
atmosphere? Take a look at the evidence.
In Ancient Aliens on Mars II, New York Times bestselling author
Mike Bara returns the reader to Mars to examine the enduring
mysteries of the Red Planet. Building on the case made in Ancient
Aliens on Mars and using data acquired from sophisticated new
scientific instruments like the Mars Odyssey THEMIS infrared
imager, Bara shows that the region of Cydonia overlays a vast
underground city full of enormous structures and devices that may
still be operating. He peels back the layers of mystery to show
images of tunnel systems, temples and ruins, and exposes the
sophisticated NASA conspiracy designed to hide them and discredit
the researchers that discovered these exotic ruins. Bara also
tackles the enigma of Mars' hollowed out moon Phobos, and exposes
evidence from over 30 years of observations that it is artificial.
Long-held myths about Mars, including claims that it is protected
by a sophisticated UFO defense system, are examined and
illuminated. Data from the Mars rovers Spirit, Opportunity and
Curiosity is examined; everything from fossilized plants to
mechanical debris is exposed in images taken directly from NASA's
own archives. Finally, the author offers his take on the secret
history of the Red Planet and what happened to the highly advanced
civilization that once flourished there.
The evidence in this book may not ultimately give you the "smoking
gun" you are looking for on your journey, but I guarantee it will
give you a box of bullets when you find it. In 1996, John
Greenewald, Jr. began researching the secret inner workings of the
U.S. Government at the age of fifteen. He targeted such agencies as
the CIA, FBI, Pentagon, Air Force, Army, Navy, NSA, DIA, and
countless others. Greenewald utilized the Freedom of Information
Act (FOIA) to gain access to more than two million pages of
documents. This archive includes information relating to UFOs, the
JFK Assassination, chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons, and
top secret aircraft. He took the millions of pages, and over the
course of more than two decades, has built an archive known around
the world, as The Black Vault. Inside The Black Vault: The
Government's UFO Secrets Revealed takes you on a journey within the
secret world of unidentified aerial phenomenon that has plagued the
military since at least the 1940s. Declassified records prove that
the UFO topic is one of the most highly classified and most elusive
subjects the U.S. Government has ever dealt with. Each chapter
explores various agencies and their documents, and Greenewald
breaks down the meaning of why some of the most important documents
are relevant to proving a massive cover-up. Along with declassified
documents, Greenewald outlines the struggle it took him to get
them. No other topic has proven so difficult, in more than 8,000
FOIA requests that he has filed. He explores why that might be and
meets skeptics and debunkers head on, outlining why some of their
more prominent rebuttals for it all cannot be true.
Since prehistoric times all cultures report encounters with strange
beings and crafts from the sky as well as stories of
extra-planetary experiences--that is, travel to other planets,
moons, and stars. In the case of modern accounts, these benevolent
alien-human interactions bear striking resemblance to one another,
even among people with no knowledge of other alien-human claims.
And all experiences marked a spiritual turning point in the
person's life, providing a loss of the fear of death, enhanced
spiritual insights, a connection to cosmic consciousness, or
increased motivation to be of service to humanity. Exploring the
veracity of ET contact and extra-planetary experience (XPE) using
rigorous scientific protocols, Thomas Streicher interviews seven
renowned people who have experienced XPE, including astronaut Edgar
Mitchell, Norma Milanovich, and Stanford-tested remote viewer Ingo
Swann, and shares the positive spiritual effects of XPE on their
lives. Exposing the failings of classic debunking arguments against
ET contact, Streicher shows these experiences are not contrived
hallucinations but genuine transformative spiritual awakenings akin
to near-death and out-of-body experiences.
The Arcturians, speaking through Norma, have sent Earthlings a
gentle message regarding their purpose for being here. They claim
they are here to assist Earth as it enters a New Age of
spirituality. They cannot interfere with the free will or
decision-making process of any Earthling, but are here to educate
and help raise the vibrations of all who choose to journey to the
new dimension the Earth is entering.
