Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the timeless and beloved A
Wizard of Earthsea - '...reads like the retelling of a tale first
told centuries ago' (David Mitchell) - comes this complete omnibus
edition of the entire Earthsea chronicles, including over fifty
illustrations illuminating Le Guin's vision of her classic saga.
Contains the short story, 'The Daughter of Odren', published in
print for the first time, and her last story 'Firelight'. Ursula K.
Le Guin's Earthsea novels are some of the most acclaimed and
awarded works in literature-they have received prestigious
accolades such as the National Book Award, a Newbery Honor, the
Nebula Award, and many more honors, commemorating their enduring
place in the hearts and minds of readers and the literary world
alike. Now for the first time ever, they're all together in one
volume-including the early short stories, Le Guin's "Earthsea
Revisioned" Oxford lecture, and new Earthsea stories, never before
printed. With a new introduction by Le Guin herself, this essential
edition will also include over fifty illustrations by renowned
artist Charles Vess, specially commissioned and selected by Le
Guin, to bring her refined vision of Earthsea and its people to
life in a totally new way. Stories include: 'A Wizard of Earthsea',
'The Tombs of Atuan', 'The Farthest Shore', 'Tehanu', 'Tales From
Earthsea', 'The Other Wind', 'The Rule of Names', 'The Word of

who are well-acquainted with its enchanting magic: to know Earthsea
is to love it. - 1,008 pages - 56 illustrations (including seven
lavishly coloured plate sections) - maps of Earthsea - stunningly
beautiful endpapers - Six novels - 4 short stories - An essay
Abducted and taken to a remote cabin in Alaska, Frankie finds herself at the mercy of four feral men, each with his own dark secrets and twisted desires.
With nowhere to run, she must rely on her wits to survive the harsh winter, trapped with them. As she delves into their mysterious pasts, she uncovers an insidious evil that feeds on loyalty and uses love as a weapon.
Nothing is as it seems.
In this desolate world where the monsters are as beautiful as they are cruel, trust is elusive. They torment her, protect her, and keep her in the dark. But to have any chance of escape, they must stand together.
Or fall prey to the evil in the hills of shivers and shadows.
DESTROYER OF WORLDS Man's reign is through. Universal laws are
breaking in the cosmos with the coming of the dark lords to the
world of man. It is they who intend to complete GOD'S CHAIN and
become a God of gods, destroyer of worlds. Professor Mancini
expedition leader is top of his game, he has discovered the
legendary Vale of MalisIblis where a lost temple exists and already
entered the temple after a horrific human sacrifice. He believes it
holds a mythical and priceless artifact called "The Key of the Gods
of Seven Rays". This is a large golden disk, a legend believed by
ancient tribes in South America that will open a portal to the
Gods. Harjit Singh is a medical student and is promoted by the
professor to lead her team through the upper temple while he
explores the lower levels. She soon becomes lost and in critical
danger, chased by a hideous monster. This is the time of the
prophecy, perfect for the arrival of Lord Smite, the first of the
dark Lords. Smite with a brutal army from another world has come to
take the link of power, conquer, and then consume all life on
Earth. His forces immediately put a siege on the defending temple
garrison. The defenders are shocked at fighting the impossible,
then stunned even more at seeing a new super-being as mighty as
Smite! GOD'S CHAIN holds the power to all existence. Excerpt: "Help
us!" Harjit pleaded loudly. "This is the home of Shiva the
Destroyer, an awful and evil place." Harjit's crazy vision turned
any doubt of getting away unscathed into grim reality. "He is
alive!" Then she gasped in horror. "Chris, look! That's not him,
there's something lying ON HIM!" Harjit froze. Instinctively she
did not want to get any closer to him. "It must be that thing I
saw!" "What is it?" Christopher begged, bleary-eyed and not
realising their danger. "Look on top of Cesare! Shiva! Some giant
insect is on his back Christopher!" Christopher stared wildly at
the sickly-looking creature on top of him. "In the name of God,"
Christopher stated and uncertain of what he was looking at,
blinking hard to clear his eyes from dust. Something silvery-white
was on him, providing an excellent camouflage for the creature.
They could see its six short scaly legs, each making a clicking
noise. Everyone felt sick while gasping in the dust. The thing
began slowly crawling over Cesare, fixing itself on top of him. The
creature had numerous tiny white albino eyes positioned all over
its oval casing. Its hard exoskeleton showed a multitude of small
sharp jaggy peaks used for protection. It seemed to be calculating
their threat, studying them in fine detail. Moving a little on the
man, it stopped. Then its surface began changing colour from white
into bright pink. It had stuck itself solidly onto the man's back.
Cesare shivered a little, moaning involuntarily and said nothing.
Everyone looked desperately at each other then the man lay quiet
and very still. All in a state of shock, watching as his body
gradually became fossilised.
HBO's hit series A GAME OF THRONES is based on George R R Martin's
internationally bestselling series A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE, the
greatest fantasy epic of the modern age. A CLASH OF KINGS is the
second volume in the series. 'Nobody does fantasy quite like
Martin' Sunday Times Throughout Westeros, the cold winds are
rising. From the ancient citadel of Dragonstone to the forbidding
lands of Winterfell, chaos reigns as pretenders to the Iron Throne
of the Seven Kingdoms stake their claims through tempest, turmoil
and war. As a prophecy of doom cuts across the sky - a comet the
colour of blood and flame - five factions struggle for control of a
divided land. Brother plots against brother and the dead rise to
walk in the night. Against a backdrop of incest, fratricide,
alchemy and murder, the price of glory is measured in blood.
