Paulo Renato Rebocho Ferreira is a Portuguese footballer who plays for Chelsea as a defender. He is known for his versatility and ability to play on both the right and left side of defence. Ferreira featured often under former manager Carlo Ancelotti but after his sacking and the hiring of young manager Andre Villas-Boas, Ferreira found it hard to find a place in the Chelsea squad. Villas-Boas opted for a younger, more inexperienced squad favouring the likes of Juan Mata, Ramires, Daniel Sturridge, David Luiz and Gary Cahill as starters and Ryan Bertrand as a substitute instead of Ferreira, Nicolas Anelka, Alex, Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard. Ferreira played his first game for Chelsea in the 2011-2012 season during a League Cup match against West-London rivals Fulham. Chelsea went on to win the match 4-3 in a penalty shoot-out. He played his first Premier League game on the 22 of December after coming on for injured Branislav Ivanovic in a match against Tottenham, the game ended in a 1-1 draw. In the final minutes of that match, Ferreira suffered a fractured cheekbone in a clash with Spurs midfielder Gareth Bale. Ferreira started his first Premier League game since May 2011 in a home game against Aston Villa. Chelsea went on to lose 3-1. On the 27th of March, the full-back was awarded another start and his first Champions League start of the season away at Benfica, providing another commended defensive performance as Chelsea went on to win the tie 1-0. Ferreira started at right back for the suspended Ivanovic as Chelsea beat rivals QPR 6-1 on April 29. Ferreira came on in the 42nd minute for the injured Florent Malouda in the last game of the Premier League season on 13 May, a 2-1 win over relegated Blackburn Rovers and the Portuguese defender was praised for his performance and his name was repeatedly chanted by the home fans. On 19th May 2012, Ferreria was an un-used substitute in the Champions League Final against Bayern Munich in Munich. Manager Roberto di Matteo had called Ferriera to warm up to go into the game late in extra time to take a penalty kick but the Italian later decided to leave his squad as it was. He was awarded a winners medal, the second of his career, as he had featured in previous fixtures in the run up to the final.

Sami Khedira is a German footballer currently playing for Real Madrid and the German national team. Khedira moved to Real Madrid from VfB Stuttgart in 2010. He is considered a dynamic midfielder with "flawless aerial ability" who can cover a lot of ground, recover the ball and quickly join in the team attack with his powerful mid-range shooting. Real Madrid On 30 July 2010 Khedira moved to Real Madrid for an undisclosed fee. Khedira was assigned the number 24 shirt, since 2011-2012 La Liga season he changed to the number 6 shirt. Khedira made his debut for Real Madrid on 13 August 2010 in a friendly match against FC Bayern Munich, which Real Madrid won 4-2 on penalties. This resulted in Real Madrid winning the Franz-Beckenbauer-Cup. His league debut came on 29 August, in a 0-0 draw against Mallorca. On 20 April 2011, he won his first title with Real Madrid: Spanish Copa del Rey, against FC Barcelona. On 3 August 2011, he scored his first goal for Real Madrid during a pre-season match against Guangzhou Evergrande. He scored his first competitive goal for Real Madrid in the Champions League, on 18 October 2011 against Olympique Lyonnais. He also scored his first Copa del Rey goal against Malaga CF in a 3-2 home win when Real Madrid were trailing behind 0-2. Khedira also scored his first official league goal against RCD Espanyol in a thrashing 5-0 home win for the whites. On 21 April 2012, Khedira scored his second league goal, in the El Clasico against arch rivals FC Barcelona. The goal was Real Madrid's 108th league of the season, breaking the previous La Liga record of 107, also set by Real Madrid in the 1989-90 season. Born to a German mother and Tunisian father, Khedira came into this world in Stuttgart, Germany in 1987. After initially playing for TV Oeffingen, he joined the VfB Stuttgart academy at the age of eight. He slowly climbed his way up through the ranks until earning his first team debut on 1 October 2006 against Hertha BSC. A couple weeks later he scored his first two Bundesliga goals against Shalke 04 and Stuttgart would eventually go on to win the league title. Prior to his arrival in the Spanish capital, Khedira scored 14 goals in 98 total matches with the German side. Sami Khedira has also had a successful run on an international level. In 2009 he captained Germany's Under-21 side to the European Championship titles. He debuted with the senior side two months later and has earned a third-place finish in the World Cup. In less than a year he notched 12 caps for Germany.
In the past three seasons Alexandre Dimitri Song Billong has carvedhimself a niche as Arsenal's No 1 defensive midfielder.
Strong in the tackle, positionally aware and a good distributor of theball, he is becoming a master at protecting his back four, breaking upopposition forays and initiating attacks.
Arsene Wenger made his singing permanent at the end of the season afteran impressive start to the Cameroon man's Arsenal career.
2006/07 First-team opportunities were few and far between at Arsenal and Alexwas the loaned out to Premier League side Charlton in January.
Before Christmas he made just four starts, though he did score hisfirst goal in an Arsenal shirt during a 6-3 victory at Anfield in theCarling Cup. He grabbed the Gunners' third in fortuitous fashion asSami Hyypia's attempted clearance bounced in off the midfielder afterCesc Fabregas' corner had cleared a bunch of players at the near post.
He spent the second half of the campaign on loan at Charlton where heimpressed greatly despite their relegation to the Championship. "It wasgood for me to play every week. I played maybe 12 or 13 games," he saidof his time with the Addicks.
2007/08 Alex made further inroads into Arsene Wenger's first team as hefeatured 15 times throughout the season. Although playing the majorityof those matches as a holding midfielder he also operated in defence.
He impressed in Arsenal's run to the Carling Cup Semi-Finals and havingearned a late call-up to Cameroon's squad for the Africa Cup ofNations, was named in the tournament's Best XI.
Injury sidelined Alex on his return from that competition though he wasa surprise inclusion to face Manchester United in a vital title clashin April. He barely put a foot wrong at Old Trafford and went on toplay every minute of Arsenal's last five Premier League fixtures.
In June, he signed a new long-term contract with the Club.
2008/09 was Alex's breakthrough season. The then 21-year-oldestablished himself as a key member of Arsene Wenger's squad, making 48appearances in all competitions.
He enjoyed his most productive and eye-catching campaign yet as heemerged as a genuine midfield enforcer - the perfect foil for CescFabregas in the Arsenal engine room.
Arsene Wenger's 4-3-3 formation allowed Alex to flourish in 2009/10season in his preferred position behind the more attack-mindedmidfielders but he did get forward to score one goal - a thumpingheader against Portsmouth at Fratton Park.
That was his final Premier League contribution before heading to theAfrica Cup of Nations and Alex was missed. His absence was also keenlyfelt when injury ruled him out of vital trips to Barcelona, Tottenhamand Wigan. It's not outlandish to suggest that Arsenal would have madea better fist of those three games with their midfield rock in place.
Barcelona On 20 August 2012, Song signed a five-year contract with FC Barcelonafor a fee of 15m. He made his Barcelona debut against Real Madrid inthe 2012 Supercopa de Espana on 29 August 2012 as a substitute for thelast 15 minutes, finishing the match with a perfect passing statistic. On 17 November, Song scored his first goal for Barcelona in a 3-1 winagainst Real Zaragoza after being assisted by Lionel Messi.
