A constant work in progress, Mesut Ozil has quickly earned a reputation as an elegant and versatile midfielder. His knack for the final pass, his free-flowing movement on every third of the pitch and his exquisite left foot earned Ozil a spot in Shalke 04's academy in 2005. It only took one season for the midfielder to earn his promotion to the first team and he made his Bundesliga debut at the age of 17. During the winter transfer window 0f 2008, Ozil completed a switch to Werder Bremen, where he played over 60 matches and scored 13 goals. With Werder, the midfielder went on to win the 2009 DFB Cup and the 2009 DFL Supercup. On an individual level, Ozil was rewarded for his outstanding Bundesliga play by being named the best player of the first leg of the 2009 season. Ozil is paving the way for the German national team's new generation of players. Although of Turkish decent, his entire life has been committed to Germany. He played for the Under-17 side and moved his way up to the Under-21 side, which won the 2009 European Championship. Ozil provided two assists and scored a goal in the final against England. His debut with the senior side dates back to 12 August 2009, when Germany defeated Azerbaijan. Ozil continued to impress in World Cup qualifiers and by the end of the 2010 World Cup was among the ten finalists for the Golden Boot.
Daniel Sturridge boosted Liverpool's striking ranks when he arrived at Anfield from Chelsea on the second day of 2013. The striker was born in Birmingham on September 1, 1989 and began his youth career at his hometown club Aston Villa before moving to Coventry and then Manchester City in 2003. He faced Liverpool for the first time in 2006 in the FA Youth Cup final. The youngest player in the City side, Sturridge fired four goals en route to the final but the young Reds proved too strong as they ran-out 3-2 winners on aggregate. Sturridge's impressive form at youth level earned him his first professional contract and at the start of the 2006-07 season, the forward began to train with City's first team. Despite making his debut as a substitute against Reading in February 2007, the youngster was forced to endure a nine-month absence following an operation to repair muscle damage around his hip which ruled him out for the remainder of the year. Fully-recovered and determined to make his mark, Sturridge netted his first professional goal in January 2008 and three days later he added another to his tally when he struck on his full debut against Derby. The 2007-08 season ended in glory for him, albeit at youth level, when he was top-scorer as City won the FA Youth Cup. The following season saw Sturridge break into the City first team, making 16 appearances and netting four goals while creating three assists. His flourishing performances were acknowledged with the club's Young Player of the Season award. However, accepting the award was to be one of his final acts as a City player, for in July 2009 his contract expired and the 19-year-old opted for a move to Chelsea. Following an impressive pre-season, he made his debut for Carlo Ancelotti's title winners-to-be against Sunderland in August 2009 and got his first start for the club against Bolton at Stamford Bridge in the League Cup. At the end of his first season at Chelsea, Sturridge was the club's highest scorer in the FA Cup with four strikes as the Londoners clinched the double with a 1-0 win over Portsmouth at Wembley. The 2010-11 campaign saw Sturridge make his Champions League bow against Slovakian outfit MSK Zilina and net four goals in 21 games; however, on the last day of the transfer window in January 2011, it was announced that the forward would be on his way to Bolton as part of a loan deal. Sturridge shone at the Reebok. He netted on his debut for Owen Coyle's side and was a consistent scorer in the Barclays Premier League, ending his stay there with a total of eight goals in 12 appearances - including one against Arsenal. Back at Chelsea, new manager Andre Villas-Boas used Sturridge in a wide role, urging him to cut inside and shoot from the right flank. He was named as a substitute in both the FA Cup and Champions League finals by Villas-Boas' replacement Roberto Di Matteo and finished the 2011-12 season with a tally of 13 goals. But his time at Chelsea was clearly drawing to a close and Brendan Rodgers swooped to bring Sturridge to Merseyside, concluding a deal at the outset of the 2013 January transfer window. Perhaps neither man could have anticipated such an instant impact, as Sturridge scored seven minutes into his debut against Mansfield Town in the FA Cup on January 6. Another strike followed from the substitutes' bench at Old Trafford a week later and by notching at home to Norwich, Sturridge became the first Liverpool player for almost 40 years to score in each of his first three appearances for the club.
Kleper Laveran Lima Ferreira ‘Pepe’ was born on 26 February 1983 in Maceio, Brazil. He began his football career with a local neighborhood team and put the finishing touches on his development with Corinthians Alagoano. At the age of 18 he signed for the Portugal’s CS Maritimo B squad on the island of Madeira. Although he had difficulty adjusting to island of life, Pepe made fast progress, which happened to match the attention of European football giant, Porto, who he signed for in 2004. Pepe has been considered by many as the perfect 21st century centre-back. He is said to have scissors attached to his legs because he cuts off absolutely everything, but he also exhibits uncanny technique, perfect tactical prowess, great placement, strength, intelligence, a dominant aerial game. Performances like that displayed in Real Madrid’s 0-1 victory in the Camp Nou in 2007/08 only confirm Pepe’s status among the world’s best. His perfect match, and perhaps the best of his blossoming career, garnished him Man of the Match honours. Real Madrid On 10 July 2007, Real Madrid signed Pepe to a five-year contract, for a fee of 30 million. On 15 March 2008, he scored the only (own) goal in a 1-0 away loss against Deportivo de La Coruna. Eight months later, he was involved in a fight during training with teammate Javier Balboa. The defender would be nonetheless called-up for Real's next match, whereas the winger was not. As the Merengues were eventually crowned La Liga champions, he delivered a Man of the match performance in a 1-0 win at FC Barcelona. During the 2009-10 season, Pepe returned to claim his place back in the starting line-ups. On 4 October 2009, he scored his first goal in the league, against Sevilla FC at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, heading home from a Guti free kick in a 1-2 loss. On 12 December, however, during a game at Valencia CF (2-3 win), he landed awkwardly following an aerial challenge, and was stretchered off the pitch in the dying minutes of the first half. Scans later showed that he ruptured his right knee's anterior cruciate ligament, going on to miss the rest of the season and jeopardizing his FIFA World Cup chances.

Fraser Gerard Forster is an English footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Celtic. He started his career with Newcastle and has had loan spells with Stockport County, Bristol Rovers and Norwich City as well as being on loan to Celtic for the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons. Celtic On 24 August 2010, Forster joined Celtic on a season-long loan from Newcastle. Celtic manager Neil Lennon described Forster by saying, "He's a big boy, he's come highly recommended, his age is the only thing going against him because otherwise he's all the qualities you look for." He made his Celtic debut on 29 August 2010 away at Motherwell and kept a clean sheet as Celtic won 1-0. He then went on to play in every match of Celtic's season with the exception of two cup matches. Forster had a successful season with Celtic, winning a runner-up medal in the League Cup and Scottish Premier League. Between them, Forster and fellow goalkeeper kept 23 clean sheets in the league, breaking Celtic's previous clean sheet record from the 2001-02 season. Forster kept 21 of the clean sheets. He capped off his season with a 3-0 victory over Motherwell to help Celtic win the Scottish Cup. In total, he kept 24 clean sheets in 44 matches for Celtic. After appearing for Newcastle in pre-season against Darlington, Orlando City, Leeds United and Fiorentina, as well as being named among the substitutes for the opening game of the Premier League season against Arsenal, Forster rejoined Celtic, on loan for the remainder of the season, on 17 August 2011. He helped Celtic draw 0-0 against FC Sion at home, but then lost 3-1 in the away leg, only for the UEFA to reinstate Celtic into the Europa League with 3-0 wins in both legs after Sion were found to be fielding ineligible players, thus allowing Forster to keep his two only clean sheets in Europe for the season, as he conceded in all the five group games he played in. Forster had a successful 2011-12 season with Celtic, winning the Scottish Premier League and helping his team beat the previous season's record of 23 clean sheets. He and Zaluska kept 25 clean sheets combined, Forster racking up 21 of them. In total, he kept 26 clean sheets from 47 games. On 30 June 2012, it was announced that Forster had signed for Celtic on a permanent deal.
