Hello, freight trains and trams. Hello, monorails and passenger
trains. Hello, ... fun! The popular Seedlings series now offers
irresistible introductions to six types of trains. Written in a
friendly voice, filled with dynamic photos, and featuring text
crafted for the youngest of readers, these newest books touch upon
the parts and roles of trains in communities. Each book closes with
a labeled-image guide for further review. As introductions to
informational text, these titles will plant the seeds of knowledge!
A kindergarten-level introduction to trams, covering their drivers,
role in transportation, and such defining features as their metal
wheels.
A Playbus is different, it does not take you on a journey but
offers a place for children to play safely. A Playbus was decorated
with bright colours and images to show they were not ordinary
buses. The colourful exterior made them stand out. The Playbus
colouring pages and information in the book reflect some of the
many projects that were or are still around. A bus that is
different. Each bus has a story with some of them such as Jay-Jay;
Daisy; Sparky and Gloria each with story books too.
This charming concertina book follows the journey of a little ship
on a voyage across the sea. Folding out to nearly 2.5 metres,
children can look at all the different things the ship sees on its
way, as it chugs past fishing vessels, a tanker and a humongous
cruise ship, alongside leaping dolphins and shoals of flying fish,
through the high, choppy waves of a lightning storm, and finally
reaching its own little harbour. Playful text guides the journey,
providing fun shared experience and conversation starter for
parents and young children. The reverse side of the concertina
features spot illustrations picked out from the main scene, with a
more expansive information about each element, from ships to ocean
life.
