A great starter set which contains some of the essential items needed for quality printmaking. Use with monotype brushwork or roll up, intaglio, etching collograph and more. This set contains three Akua Intaglio Inks, which are high quality, lightfast pigments. The inks have a thick consistency with minimal water content and contain no toxic driers – this means a longer working time. The set also contains Phthalo Akua Liquid Pigment Ink which originally was developed for monotype printmaking and is a fluid concentrated pigment. Included in this set are also two modifiers, the Transparent Base Modifier is designed to have Akua Liquid Pigment added to it which will not only thicken the Liquid Pigment but will give you the ability to create new intaglio or relief colours. The set also contains a Blending Medium which can be used with both the Akua Liquid Pigment and the Akua Intaglio Ink - it is a clear, colourless liquid and is to be used to thin the ink for brushwork, wash effects or used as a resist for viscosity monotypes. This non-permanent ink has enhanced tack and excellent transfer properties, with a perfectly balanced working and drying time making it easy to use and clean up. Designed for use with Essdee Linoleum, SoftCut, MasterCut, and Printfoam, but can also be used with many other printmaking materials and techniques. Essdee premium block printing ink prints well onto all grades of paper and card, and can be intermixed to create a full palette of colours, tints, tones, and shades.

All Essdee inks are water-based so rollers and ink trays can be easily cleaned using warm water. You may also wish to use a small amount of washing-up detergent.
