The Essdee Soft Lino Roller is designed for use in relief printmaking, and is an effective tool for inking lino sheets and softer surfaces such as Speedball Speedy Carve Blocks.Developed for relief printing, this softer 40 shore synthetic rubber roller is resistant to printers chemicals and not affected by exposure to daylight. Designed to give a more compliant coverage than hard rubber material, it is more forgiving on uneven surfaces. It is a favourite with certain printing methods but needs extra care in storage to prevent indentation to its soft surface.

Made from soft, natural latex gum rubber with a precision-ground finish, Speedball Soft Rubber Brayers are ideal for use with linoleum, vinyl, or wood blocks. The heavy-duty steel frame provides enhanced durability, and the flexibility of the 40/42 durometer rubber ensures for even ink distribution especially over uneven surfaces. The roller diameter is 30mm and the widths range from 1.5in/38mm to 6in/150mm. Designed for use with water based and oil based inks.Care should be taken with the rubber rollers when cleaning and storing. Lightly dust with talc to avoid the surface becoming sticky and ensure the surface of the roller is not pressing against anything when put away.

This heavyweight roller is perfectly smooth allowing for a greater quantity of ink to be held and in doing so also means a greater amount of coverage.  A wet roller can simply be turned over and the handle doubles as a stand for cleaner working. Made from a hand-ground concentric EPDM rubber surface, which means it is flexible yet resistant to weathering.
