Daler Rowney FW Acrylic Ink Pouring Medium is specially formulated to use with Daler Rowney FW Acrylic Inks and Daler Rowney System 3 Acrylic Inks. Mixing this medium with your colours gives them a pourable consistency and ensures that they will dry with a smooth, even coloured film without any cracking.

Acrylic pouring involves pre mixing fluid acrylics and acrylic ink with a pouring medium and then pouring it over a panel or canvas to create gorgeous abstract patterns or landscapes. This pouring medium can be mixed with any fluid acrylic, artist acrylic paint or with acrylic inks. The medium allows you to pour your mixes easily and forms a smooth, self-levelling surface without trapped air or bubbles. It increases colour transparency and this means you are able to produce more interesting paint layers. It dries to a gloss finish and is waterproof, flexible and durable when dry. The medium dries clear meaning any work will be slightly darker upon drying.

If you want to further reduce the risk of air bubbles when pre mixing your medium and acrylic colour stir slowly. For the best results it is worth priming your substrate with gesso or a binder medium. You can use Atelier Unlocking formula to break any bubbles on the surface of the painting and to change the surface tension.

Golden High Flow Medium (formerly Airbrush Transparent Extender) is a liquid medium useful for extending colors, decreasing gloss, and increasing film integrity. Useful for blending with Golden Fluid Acrylics to decrease the gloss, without increasing viscosity.

We generally do not recommend using Airbrush Medium with the pre-made Golden Airbrush Colors because this creates a very slow-drying, potentially weaker paint film, with poor frisket performance (color sticking to frisket or masking films) until the film sufficiently dries. When frisketing is of critical importance, use Golden High Flow Medium to dilute the airbrush colors or other acrylics.

High Flow Medium is recommended whenever a mixture requires airbrush medium additions greater than 2 parts medium to 1 part paint. This will yield a paint system that dries quickly, ‘friskets’ well, and has excellent sprayability.
