... is a collection of Christian poetry. This book shares my belief and faith in God, in prayer and in praise. I was a soul struggling for sanity. Thinking my life defeated, to Him - God - I wholly retreated. He enabled me to weather the storm. I hope my poetry will lift the spirit of readers in bleak hours, and encourage them to enjoy the beauty of this great world, and accept God's invitation to everlasting life. I would like to relate that God is always there to steer a fate if one in patience, in faith, in prayer -- wait. Ruby Dell Ross, Author

The goal was to present - as much as possible - a literal and exact translation of the commentaries of Yogiraj Shyama Charan Lahiri Mahasay. The idea was to give the English speaking reader the experience of what it is like to read the Bengali originals. The translations contained in this book are the result. They are not poetic or "interpretive," nor are they meant to be. We wish to thank those generous kind souls worldwide who contributed the funds to make the publishing possible. This book contains the following works of Lahiri Mahasaya translated into English by Yoga Niketan: CONTENTS 1. Introduction 2. Omkar Gita 3. Guru Gita 4. Avadhuta Gita 5. Dedication "Kutastha resides in this body. It is He Who is Guru. He is here as Atman Self] and is also Paramatman Supreme Self]. If there is no Atman, where can the world be? The cause of the world's existence is Atman Itself. Without the existence of Atman, how could the creation of the Cosmos-samsara and the manifestation of all forms come about? It is Atman Who has taken on the myriad forms. It is Atman Who is experiencing them from Self-whim. Atman is the One Who is all Maya. It is Atman Who is Total Brahman. In this way, meditate upon Brahman, Who is Guru, in your head." -from Lahiri Mahasaya's Guru Gita
Welcome to "The Dance", the wise and practical book that expands on Oriah Mountain Dreamer's new moving prose poem. In this compelling book the acclaimed author of "The Invitation" challenges readers to live with passion, energy, and honesty. The key, says Oriah, is to savour the everyday world of family, friends, love, and work with clear minds and open hearts. When we are physically and emotionally stressed and our spirits are depleted, we must realise that happiness has not vanished but is buried beneath the clutter of our harried lives. With rare courage and honesty, Oriah unveils the challenge of her inspiring poem through compelling stories from her own experience, offering us tools to become fully the person we already are - not ways to change. 'To dance - to live in a way that is consistent with our longing' - is to discover a gift that we can give ourselves again and again over a lifetime. To dance, alone or with others, is to be who we truly are as we fulfill our soul's desires. To do this, we must learn how to let go and slow down, returning to the sacred emptiness where we encounter our true self. Practical, inspiring, and profoundly illuminating, "The Dance" is an invitation to discover a place of connection, serenity, and joy that is uniquely our own.
This is a story about two different lives, and how God brought them together. Their lives were as different as night and day. One lived a righteous life, and the other lived a border life. Our first life is the life of Grace. For a long time Grace grew up on a cotton farm, in the State of Texas. Then one day a hard sand storm came, and they lost everything they had. Her father sold the farm and moved to a little town just outside of Waco. Grace lived a righteous life; her father would read the bible to her and her brothers. Sunday's they would go to Church. At nights after supper, Grace, her father and mother would gather around the piano and sing songs from the Church Hymnal. This went on even after Grace was married. Our second life is the life of John. John's life was doomed from birth. Just as Grace, John lived on a farm. John was born and raised in West-by-god-Virginia. John's parents had separated by the time he was two. His oldest brother was killed by a mule at the young age of sixteen. After his mother sold the farm they moved to Charleston, WV. John stayed there until the 10th grade. He dropped out of school and joined the Navy. After two years in the Navy, John went back to finish High School. After High School, he joined the Air Force. John was not brought up in a Christian home. When he was younger he was forced to go to Church and Sunday school with his strict mother. Therefore John did not like Church, after High School John never went again. Here we have two people, so far apart, in so many ways, and how God brought them together to fulfill his plans, and his love for them.
Julene grew up in a prominent family with godly virtues but when tragedy struck it tore them apart. She became a victim of physical, mental, and sexual abuse. Even though she was elevated to stardom that did not heal her severed heart, she learned that the cure to her crisis was not the money or the men but rather it is God. She discovered that God is the healer who mends everything that is broken and breathes life into everything that is dead. He gave her a reason to keep on living, and looking beyond her past failures and moving into the victories that He prepared for her.

In the process of writing two short collections of light hearted material, (one published and one yet to be published), the author became acutely awarethat he could not continue forward without addressing what he considered to be the most important issues of human existence. All of us have askedourselves the questions, "What is the meaning of life" and "Why am I here"? Some have rejected the idea of an eternal soul, some are undecided, whileothers are largely unconcerned, but the author has chosen to embrace the concept and run with it. He believes there is a single overriding mission forevery individual alive today. The sole purpose of this life is to prepare for the next one, and every person has been given the ability to control hisown destiny. When compared to eternity, our lives are like a single knot in a rope that stretches around the world. From the foundation of the earth, a plan has been in place to allow humanity to share the wonders of eternity with the Creator of all things. Those who follow that plan will berewarded accordingly, while those who prefer to separate themselves from the influence of a Higher Power, will be granted their wish in eternity. Ifthis book convinces one person to follow the plan that leads to redemption, then it will have been well worth the effort.
