This is the story of the experiences of Jonathan in the Vietnam War. It is a story of death, violence, pain, and sorrow; of nightmares and disillusions, but it is also a story of God's healing and his message of hope and prosperity. The Prayer of Jonah--From the Depths of Vietnam Jungles is the story of Jonathan, the Jonah of the modern world, disobeying God's call and finding himself in the belly of the "depths of Vietnam jungles." After returning from Vietnam, Jonathan, like all the soldiers returning home, was not welcomed by society, especially the hippie movement, calling them "assassins," "baby killers," and all kind of insults. Jonathan received the call of God for the second time and like Jonah, obeyed the Lord and went to the city to deliver God's message, "a 9-1-1 emergency call" to the great city. He too went in search of his brother, Carlitos, and gave him "a 9-1-1 message" of salvation.
"Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." - Hebrews 11:1 (NKJV) Faith is the opposite of fear. Without faith, it is impossible to please God. Faith in Christ secures freedom from condemnation; it is the necessary component of saving grace. Faith is fellowship with Jesus Christ. Faith trusts in the Word of God. Faith is a conviction that Jesus Christ is Messiah. Faith is experiencing life with Jesus Christ. Faith in Jesus Christ provides confidence. Faith in Jesus Christ is power to act. Grace and faith are the first principles of the Gospel. Faith in Jesus Christ believes in his attributes of character and perfection. True faith, by Jesus Christ's definition, always involves surrender to the will of God. Be sure and secure in faith
THE TREE OF LIFE WHICH YOU WERE DEPRIVED OF IS THE WORD OF GOD, THE TEACHING OF GOD. If Adam and Eve had received these types of teachings when they were in the Garden of Eden, they would not have died. THE FRUIT OF LIFE IS THE WORD OF GOD. This is explained in John 15:1-6. THE TREE OF LIFE IS THE WORD OF GOD WHICH YOU MUST EAT. MAN SHOULD ENDEAVOR TO GAIN ETERNAL LIFE THROUGH THE WORD OF GOD. John 12:48-50. Do you know that my teachings will give you everlasting life? THE FRUIT OF LIFE IS NO OTHER THING THAN THE GOSPEL WHICH I GIVE YOU. EVERYTHING YOU NEED IS EMBEDDED IN THESE TEACHINGS. MY TEACHINGS HAVE TWELVE DIFFERENT TYPES OF FRUIT WHICH STAND FOR THE TWELVE POWERS OF MAN. (By-Leader Olumba Olumba Obu)

THE THEFT OF THE VIRGIN When Paul Zacher finds a genuine old master's painting hanging in an exhibit of great fakes, it can only mean one thing: the fake must be hanging in place of the real one he's seeing. Is this a new way of transporting stolen masterworks? And who was skilled enough to paint that copy? This ninth of the San Miguel mysteries puts Paul on the trail of a world-class forger. When that trail crosses the route of the Virgin of Guadalupe as it tours Mexico, the ante is boosted to murderous levels. As the action swings from Florence, to Texas to Guadalajara and San Miguel, the question becomes, what is Paul Zacher really looking at?
Were humans created, or did they evolve? This debate continues to rage between science and religion. In "Creation or Evolution?, " author Michael Ebifegah examines these two worldviews within the framework of science.. He examines the constraints of science as an explanatory framework for the origin of species and compares the contemporary world to a hypothetical world under the influence of evolutionary processes and agency. Additionally, he considers the irrelevance of the earth's age to the creationist/evolutionist controversy. He stresses that knowledge of the intersection between the origin of life and the origin of species is required to establish the latter.. Ebifegah augments the natural selection discussion in light of Fodor and Piattelli-Palmarini's work and addresses science's limitations in deploying similarity/dissimilarity arguments in the debate about creationism versus evolutionism. Finally, he focuses on the lack of historical evidence to justify an evolutionary worldview. "Creation or Evolution?" discusses how the M-theory and Charles Darwin's paradigm of evolution by natural selection are outside the limits of science. Ebifegah shows that we must look beyond the inadequacy of such theories and address the validity of science as the sole avenue of inquiry.

Just as in the theory of evolution versus the Biblical teaching and the truth of God's creation, so there is a controversy whether or not both the Bible and scientific facts teach clearly that the earth is the center of God's creation rather than the sun. Dr. Moorman has done a masterful job in clarifying this subject for the Bible-believing Christians.
One day, while watching a television show that featured the Rapper DMX, Reverend Claiborne Brown heard him quote a poem: "These are hands of a man that steals; these are hands of a man that kills; these are the hands of a man that does; now fold them, the hands of a man that was." The poem DMX quoted revealed how he lived his life on the streets, but Reverend Brown prayed and asked the Lord to bless him with a poem that would bless the world. And so the Lord blessed him with a poem called "Second Chance Prayer": "Lord, as I kneel down to pray; I asked the Lord today, To give me a second chance to make it all the way.I know I have lied, and spoke many untruths, But, Lord give me a second chance to make it up to you.""The Book of Love towards God" presents a series of poems by Rev. Brown inspired by the Bible, intended to enlighten and uplift with the Holy Spirit's divine power.
Chesterton states his purpose in Orthodoxy is to 'attempt an explanation, not of whether the Christian faith can be believed, but of how he personally has come to believe it'. This book has become a classic of Christian apologetics.
"The Old Covered Wagon" shares the adventures and struggles of a family traveling south from Pennsylvania in a covered wagon after the end of the Civil War to relocate in a valley at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The story incorporates some actual historical accounts and personages of the era. The family stops for a few days at a campsite and enjoys the beauty of the mountains but encounters some unexpected difficulties. They have a faithful but rambunctious blue-tick hound dog tagging along with them. Their teenage son roams the mountains and stream and has some confrontations with wild animals. The characters are portrayed as Christians. A love for God and nature is presented in the family's habits, relationships, and thought patterns. Scripture verses from the Holy Bible are referenced throughout the story to indicate God's involvement with mankind and nature and to make a clarion statement as to the joy, encouragement, and security one can have when he places his faith in the Creator of heaven and Earth.
In Spiritual American Trash, Greg Bottoms goes beyond the
examination of eight outsider artists and inhabits the spirit of
their work and stories in engaging vignettes. From the janitor who
created a holy throne room out of scraps in a garage, to the lonely
wartime mother who filled her home with driftwood replicas of Bible
scenes, Bottoms illustrates the peculiar grace in madness.
"Does God Exist? Yes, Here Is the Evidence" considers one of life's most enduring questions. To find an answer, Hendrick Park follows a trail of evidence that uncovers arguments for the existence of God in the characteristics of the natural world, in the moral and religious experiences of people's lives, and in the knowledge contained in divine revelation. Presented in three parts corresponding to the types of evidence, this exploration draws upon the work of a variety of scientists, philosophers, and theologians. In addition, narratives of Park's personal encounters with the actions of God in his own life provide illustrations that amplify the conclusions expressed by authorities in the various fields of thought. If you believe in God, but wonder about the reasons for faith that reside in the natural world, human experience, and divine revelation, then "Does God Exist? Yes, Here Is the Evidence" will help to strengthen the foundations of your faith. By asking this one big question-does God exist-you may find yourself asking and then seeking answers to other deep questions about your ultimate destiny with God. "Does God Exist? Yes, Here Is the Evidence" will serve as your guide along the way.

The life story of Sheldon Vanauken is one of adventure, romance, conversion, grief, and recovery. Much of this was chronicled in the autobiographical bestseller, A Severe Mercy. However, a good deal of Vanauken's fascinating life remained shrouded in secrecy ... until now. Through a process of careful historical research, including interviews with Vanauken's many friends, colleagues, and students, Will Vaus reveals to the reader the numerous facets of a complex character. In this biography we discover: Vanauken the struggling student, the bon-vivant lover, the sailor who witnessed the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the seeker who returned to faith through C. S. Lewis, the beloved professor of English literature and history, the feminist and anti-war activist who participated in the March on the Pentagon, the bestselling author, and Vanauken the convert to Catholicism. What emerges is the portrait of a man relentlessly in search of beauty, love, and truth, a man who believed that, in the end, he found all three. "A sympathetic, perceptive and well researched study of one of America's most important recent religious writers. Readers of A Severe Mercy are in Will Vaus' debt for such an illuminating and informative study." Alister McGrath, author of C. S. Lewis: A Life "Van was a character - a very good one as it happens, and Will Vaus catches the actuality of this intriguing man of many parts. Very illuminating reading." Thomas Howard, author of On Being Catholic "This is a charming biography about a doubly charming man who wrote a triply charming book. It is a great way to meet the man behind A Severe Mercy." Peter Kreeft, author of Jacob's Ladder: Ten Steps to Truth "Vaus has masterfully captured the spirit of Vanauken, his deep desire for beauty, his mistakes along the way, and eventually his love of God. Reading this biography takes me back to the same deep emotions I have every time I read A Severe Mercy." Jim Belcher, author of Deep Church "Sheldon Vanauken's story of C. S. Lewis, Oxford, a passionate love, and a tragic loss captured the imagination of Evangelical Christians thirty years ago. Will Vaus' biography of the author of A Severe Mercy captures the same mixture of a flawed romantic quest driven by a longing for truth, goodness and beauty, that culminates in the fullness of the Catholic faith. Vaus' book is a study in divine providence and a captivating biography of a unique and noble soul." Fr. Dwight Longenecker, author of The Quest for the Creed "Very well written, thoroughly researched, hard to put down despite many tears - Will Vaus captures the essence of Van in this book." Marion, Davy Vanauken's daughter Will Vaus is a popular speaker and the author of a variety of books including The Hidden Story of Narnia, Speaking of Jack, and Mere Theology.
The 18th century was a wealth of knowledge, exploration and rapidly growing technology and expanding record-keeping made possible by advances in the printing press. In its determination to preserve the century of revolution, Gale initiated a revolution of its own: digitization of epic proportions to preserve these invaluable works in the largest archive of its kind. Now for the first time these high-quality digital copies of original 18th century manuscripts are available in print, making them highly accessible to libraries, undergraduate students, and independent scholars. The Age of Enlightenment profoundly enriched religious and philosophical understanding and continues to influence present-day thinking. Works collected here include masterpieces by David Hume, Immanuel Kant, and Jean-Jacques Rousseau, as well as religious sermons and moral debates on the issues of the day, such as the slave trade. SHADOWS AND CHIVALRY studies the influence of George MacDonald, a nineteenth-century Scottish novelist and fantasy writer, upon one of the most influential writers of modern times, C. S. Lewis - the creator of Narnia, literary critic, and best-selling apologist. While other books, quoting Lewis himself, have only mentioned the fact that Lewis called MacDonald his "master," and that MacDonald's Phantastes helped "baptize" Lewis's imagination, this study attempts to trace the overall effect of MacDonald's work on Lewis's thought and imagination. Without ever ceasing to be a story of one man's influence upon another, the study also serves as an exploration of each writer's thought on, and literary visions of, good and evil. Lastly, using the metaphor of chivalry, McInnis looks at what Lewis and MacDonald believed to be greater than either suffering or hell: the severe and tender Love who longs to save. "By far the most penetrating and exhaustive study that I have seen of the origin in George MacDonald's writings of so many of C. S. Lewis's ideas. Jeff McInnis's sensitive and highly informed judgments greatly enrich our understanding of their imaginative and devotional achievement. A genuinely enriching read for any earnest Christian mind." Rolland Hein, Professor Emeritus, Wheaton College Author of Through the Year with George MacDonald "Jeff McInnis has written a book that henceforth will be indispensable to all students of C. S. Lewis who seek to understand the oft-mentioned but till now not fully fathomed debt of his literary and theological imagination to George MacDonald. His well conceived study has the further benefit of doing considerable justice to the angular graces of MacDonald's anti-Calvinistic under standing of redemption. McInnis's chapter on "The Chivalry of God" finds an indispensable key to this great, but out-of-time conversation between two lay theologians of enduring interest and literary power." David Lyle Jeffrey, Distinguished Professor of Literature and the Humanities, Baylor University Author of Christianity and Literature: Philosophical Foundations and Critical Practice Jeff McInnis (PhD, University of St. Andrews) is Professor of English at Panola College in Carthage, Texas.
Synopsis: When Jesus offers his body as a promise to his disciples, he initiates a liturgical framework that is driven by irony and betrayal. Through these deconstructive elements, however, the promise invites the disciples into an intimate space where they anticipate the fulfillment of what is to come. This anticipatory energy provides the common thread between Donne and Dickinson, who draw specifically on the unstable story that unfolds during the Last Supper in order to develop a liturgical poetics. By tracing the implications of the body as a textual presence, Liturgical Liaisons opens into new readings of Donne and Dickinson in a way that enriches how these figures are understood as poets. The result is a risky and rewarding understanding of how these two figures challenged accepted theological norms of their day. Endorsements: "Liturgical Liaisons examines the development of liturgical poetics in Donne and Dickinson. . . . Here is liturgical risk--love must pass through betrayal. Heit offers fresh, imaginative thinking on deeply serious issues." --George Newlands, Glasgow University "An engaging and thoughtful meditation on Christ's body and the Last Supper as a signifier of displaced and deferred meaning, Liturgical Liaisons uses the related disciplines of theology and philosophy to open up the liturgical value of Donne and Dickinson's poetry. . . . This is a fascinating and delicate contribution to the growing academic interest in the relationship between literature and theology." --Linda Freedman, author of Emily Dickinson and the Religious Imagination "Liturgical Liaisons is a sophisticated, luminous interpretation of John Donne and Emily Dickinson's poetry that brilliantly draws on theological and literary methodologies. . . . Whether discussing Heidegger or the Psalms, Derrida or the Last Supper, Heit is a subtle, thoughtful, and ambitious critic. This is a compelling, interdisciplinary, and scholarly book that contributes to a new comprehension of Donne and Dickinson, an inspired conjunction that now seems utterly convincing." --Richard A. Kaye, Hunter College and the Graduate Center Author Biography: Jamey Heit holds his doctorate from Glasgow University's Centre for Literature, Theology and the Arts. He is the author of multiple books and has presented his work at a variety of international conferences.
