SHADOWS AND CHIVALRY studies the influence of George MacDonald, a nineteenth-century Scottish novelist and fantasy writer, upon one of the most influential writers of modern times, C. S. Lewis - the creator of Narnia, literary critic, and best-selling apologist. Many of my thoughts about Jesus come to me in small groups of souls whose purpose is talking about Him and His ways. It could be a men's group or dinner with friends, and then out of nowhere, a revelation will come to me and stick with me till I create it. In this case, I recall a discussion we were having in Sunday school, where we discovered that the only person who can truly proclaim to be "I am" is Jesus, because He is, was, and forever will be-the only person who can truly claim existence. From there, the idea grew in my quiet time into a simple sculpture to present His name carved into stone. I hope you're moved as I am by the beautiful, simplistic message of His name and who He is.
