Branan meets his half-sister and together they recount their
father's exploits, and even amusingly try to catch 100 foxes as
Samson did. When the two come across some Israelite children
playing tricks on the Philistine priests---tricks that could land
them all in a lot of trouble---Branan and his sister must undo the
damage before anyone discovers what has happened. Ultimately Branan

Written in the humorous, gross style of the 2:52 line, designed to
ignite the interest of boys. Bible Freaks and Geeks---This book
helps boys to grow smarter, stronger, deeper, and cooler by showing
them how hurtful name-calling can be. In a fun, engaging format,
the book highlights biblical examples of machos, jocks, goons,
wonks, slackers, airheads, and more. Through the biblical examples
of characters who some would likely classify in these terms today,
we learn what kind of people God has used throughout history to
accomplish his plans. In Bible Freaks and Geeks we also discover
that not only are people wrongfully labeled today by such general
and unkind terms, but that even in ancient times, humans exhibited
the same traits that we see today. Readers will learn more about
the characters in the Bible, and also how to discern between
descriptive labels and harmful stereotypes. Seriously Sick Bible
Stuff---This book gives boys the lowdown on what living in ancient
Israel was really like. In fun and engaging 2:52 style, it offers
humorous, gross facts about day-to-day life in Bible times,
shattering any illusions boys may have about how much easier things
would have been if they had lived during Jesus day. This book
exposes boys to the truth: sleeping next to goats (and cleaning up
after them in the morning ), eating food that was spiced because it
was spoiled, drinking water that was probably unsafe, and using
bathroom accommodations that made outhouses look good. Not to
mention the tough, boring work kids had to do Seriously Sick Bible
Stuff helps boys understand the people of Jesus time---making them
grateful for the life God has given them today. ED STRAUSS By his
early teen years, Ed Strauss was writing several novels at once. He
had a dresser for his clothing, but Ed had different priorities.
The bottom drawer held his comic books---mostly Spider-Man, Tarzan,
and Turok. The middle drawer overflowed with his story notes,
research, and maps. The top drawer was stuffed with clothing. On a
nearby shelf was Ed s favorite reading material, an encyclopedia
set he had won on a nationwide kiddie show. Ed lives in Chilliwack,
BC."

A graphic novel of epic proportions ... In this first book of the
Son of Samson series, Branan has inherited his father's strength,
but he has no idea why. In hopes of understanding God's plan, he
travels back to Israel to trace the deeds of the father he never
knew-and finds himself in the crosshairs of a Philistine captain in
the process. Growing up among the Philistines, Branan was always
different-a little bigger, and much stronger, than his friends, and
the only kid who worshiped God instead of Dagon. And he carried a
big secret: his father was Samson, the man everyone in his country
feared. Desperate to understand why God gave him his father's
gifts, Bran travels to Israel ... and discovers the Philistines are
still terrorizing the people. While traveling to the cities where
his father welded a jawbone and carried a massive gate, Bran also
comes to the attention of Lord Sidon, who refuses to let another
Hebrew warrior threaten Philistine rule. And Bran is determined to
do what his father never could: use his strength for good. The
Judge of God: combines biblically accurate information about Samson
and ancient Israel with a story arc that follows a boy looking to

Jake and Father plan to go fishing, but on the way to the lake Jake
spills the worms. Jake is noisy in the boat and then gets a fish
hook caught in his pants. When things finally settle down, they
catch several fish for supper and have a great day together. But
feeling sorry for the fish, Jake decides to put them back in the
lake.Jake feels like he spoiled the day by wanting to put the fish
back. Father assures Jake that God gave them a good day to have fun
and be together. Father stops by the store on the way home and they
buy some crackers shaped like fish.
Jake is excited about having his own bedroom, but when it comes
time to go to sleep, he is afraid of the dark and afraid of being
alone. Jake tries to conquer his fears by turning on the bedroom
light. When that doesn t work, he takes his animals to bed with
him. Then he tries crawling under his bed. When none of these
methods work, he crawls back into bed and finally falls asleep. The
next morning, when Jake tells his parents what happened, they get
him a night light and remind him that God is with him all night
long. The next night Jake has no trouble falling asleep."

An excitingly different approach to sharing Bible stories with
children What is a Whoosh? It's a drama strategy developed by the
Royal Shakespeare Company's education unit and popularised in
schools, involving every child in physical interaction with the
story. Why Whoosh? It enables children to retain details of the
narrative more effectively and to discuss the meaning of a story
with greater understanding and insight. And it's lots of fun!
What's in this book? 50 Bible stories for use with 7-11 year olds,
follow-up activities, discussion starters and prayers, and tips for
leaders on how to use the whooshing technique. How do I use this
book? It can be used with minimal preparation to provide a full
Bible story teaching programme or to supplement an existing one,
and is suitable for a range of contexts: Sunday school, midweek
group, family service, holiday club, Messy Church celebration, or
primary school.
Goliath might get all the press, but there are many other fearsome
giants and towering men throughout the Old Testament and thrilling
stories behind each one. In Big Bad Bible Giants, readers 8 and up
encounter each powerful and massive man through large
black-and-white illustrations and kid-friendly language that
explores the background of each hulking giant and why they're
important, as well as interesting facts like what their massive
weapons looked like and how many sheep it may have taken to satisfy
their gigantic appetites-as well as the feats it took to bring
these men to their knees. Bulging muscles, towering height, and
earth-rattling footsteps ... while it might sound like a
description for the big green guy in the movies and comics, these
words actually apply to the many giants found throughout the Bible
who were at times just as angry, almost as strong, and prone to
wanting to smash things when it came to battles against the
Israelites. In Big Bad Bible Giants, the amazing facts (and myths)
behind the giants of the Bible are explored in kid-friendly
language, alongside large illustrations that show what these
towering antiheroes may have looked like. From
surprising-yet-accurate information on their diets, where they came
from, and just how immense their weapons and appetites really were,
the gigantic battles and wars against these men will have kids
looking at the Old Testament in a completely new way. Big Bad Bible
Giants: contains biblically sound information in language kids can
