Yupo Translucent Watercolour Paper will help you see colour from a new perspective. Its ultra-smooth surface is a great starting point for a variety of media including watercolour, alcohol ink, acrylic, monotype, offset printing, oil pastel, and graphite. Yupo Translucent is a non-porous, acid-free, and pH-neutral synthetic paper which is machine-made in the US from 100% polypropylene. It is completely water and stain-proof and has become a unique alternative to traditional art papers due to its strength and durability. This paper resists tearing or buckling and there is no need to stretch or treat the paper before you start work. The super smooth surface allows you to build up nuances and patterns that would normally be impossible to achieve on traditional watercolour and drawing paper. Because it can be wiped clean you have the option to return to specific areas and redo them until they meet your standards, or to build up layers of paint using a similar technique to the one used with oil painting.
Fabriano Artistico watercolour paper is mould made and is produced with 100% cotton. It is chlorine and acid free, guaranteeing long conservation and inalterability over time. The paper is sized both internally and externally, making it ideally absorbent and retaining its nature unaltered even if scratched. This paper is traditional white, without optical bleaching.
Jacksons Two Rivers Handmade Watercolour Paper : NOT surface : 200lb : 22x30in : single sheet Made exclusively for Jackson s by the Two Rivers paper mill in Somerset. This paper is conservation quality, made with 100% cotton and linen rag and very hard sized. This means that the surface is incredibly tough, allowing the artist to work the surface for much longer than with more absorbent artists papers. Because the paint is not drawn into the paper the pigment dries to a sharp and brilliant finish. The inclusion of linen in its make-up results in an unusually tough surface which will resist much lifting out, scrubbing and re-working. Reassuringly, the 400 year old mill is also hydro powered making it very environmentally friendly. TR has a unique random surface texture unlike the mechanically even weave of most other branded papers. This also means that there is not a right or wrong side as both sides are identical. As well as watercolour, our papers are used for other media including pastels, oils, printmaking, photographic processes and many types of mixed media. The NOT surface is slightly rougher than most.
Fabriano 5 is an exceptionally smooth paper made by the Italian company Fabriano. This paper is both surface sized and watermarked, with the Fabriano logo. The Fabriano 5 paper is mould made from 50% cotton and 50% carefully selected raw material. The absence of acid to guarantees excellent permanence and resistance to ageing.
One of the world's finest water colour papers. A 100% cotton watercolour paper, with a structure giving it strength and a characteristic feel. The manufacturing process, using a cylinder mould, makes it possible to obtain harmonious and varied grains with rough, cold-pressed, hot-pressed quality and two deckled edges. The paper is gelatin-sized, and then air-dried, so that the colours retain a fine rendering even after being scraped and erased. Its natural whiteness (no optical bleaches), mildew protection and neutral PH mean that the paper has a very long shelf-life.

This is a high quality paper made using pure materials to archival standards. It's attractive surface is created using natural woollen felts that give it a distinctive random texture. Appreciated for its excellent colour lifting abilities. This is an extremely forgiving watercolour paper valued by professional and amateur artists around the world. Please be aware that it is not possible to order more than 5 of this product at one time. Millford is styled on the discontinued Whatman watercolour paper, after artists grieved the loss of this unique type of watercolour paper. It is mould made from 100% cotton (just like the original Whatman), and it's beautiful surface is created using natural woollen felts. It is deliberately created to have a high resistance to water, so it’s washes perform very differently to traditional watercolour papers. Saunders Waterford paper is archival which means it will not discolour or fall apart over time and is made of 100% cotton rag. This paper is much more durable than lower grades of paper because it is gelatine surface sized and it is mould-made, both of which mean it can take scrubbing of the surface without falling apart.

Yupo is a non-porous, acid-free and pH neutral, synthetic paper which is machine-made in the US from 100% polypropylene. It is completely waterproof, stain-resistant and has become a unique and intriguing alternative to traditional art papers due to its strength and lifting properties. Yupo is made from heated polypropylene pellets which are then extruded to form the base and surface layers of the paper, These layers are stretched to create a dimensionally storable and biaxial-orientated substrate. This process means that Yupo paper is exceptionally strong, opaque and has an incredibly smooth surface. This paper easily resists tearing or buckling meaning there is no need to stretch or treat in any way before you start work. Yupo has an extra smooth surface and can be used with a combination of media, including watercolour, alcohol ink, acrylic paint, monotype, offset printing, debossing, oil pastel, graphite, and silkscreen. As an especially durable synthetic, Yupo normally enters the waste stream at a far slower rate than conventional papers. Since it is a polypropylene (PP) plastic film, it is fully recyclable and will remain inert in any approved landfill. If safely incinerated in a modern incinerator with an atmosphere of excess oxygen, it will yield only water, carbon dioxide, and ash. "Yupo is very different to normal watercolour paper (but still make sure not to get greasy fingerprints on it) it stays flat, which is a great bonus, the paint can go mad; which is fun and you can pretty much rinse a sheet under a cold tap and start again. Masking fluid doesn't bond to the surface, so make sure it's dry before you rinse anything away as water will creep slightly under the masking fluid. It's very different, it's fun to play with and well worth trying." When you have completed a piece remember to spray the surface of the Yupo paper with a matt clear varnish or finishing spray so that the work will remain stable.
This superb artist grade paper from Saunders Waterford has a watermark in the corner for authenticity and 4 deckle edges which are visually beautiful and perfect for float framing. Please note that while Saunders Waterford High White papers are noticeably whiter than the traditional Saunders Waterford paper, they still have a pale cream appearance. This is because it is not currently possible to whiten the paper to a bright white without compromising light-fastness by using Optical Brightening Agents. The whiter shade of Saunders Waterford High White paper is achieved by adding a high white lightfast pigment with good long-life properties, as used in some watercolour paints. Artists grade watercolour paper is archival which means it will not discolour or fall apart over time. It is made of 100% cotton rag. This paper is much more durable than lower grades of paper because it is gelatine surface sized and it is mould-made, both of which mean it can take scrubbing of the surface without falling apart.
