This book is an account of the origins and development of
Cardiff's and Wales's medical school during the first four decades
of its controversial existence. A contribution not only to the
history of medical education in the United Kingdom, but also to the
often acrimonious history between the University of Wales and
Cardiff College, this volume addresses the evolving relationship
between medical schools and teaching hospitals, the uniquely
negative relationship between the Cardiff Royal Infirmary and the
medical school during the 1920s, and the development of clinical
practice within the Cardiff school, among other topics.
