Este libro reune contribuciones de numerosos especialistas nacionales e internacionales cuyo eje principal es la indagacion sobre el viaje y sus escrituras. El espacio literario y la aventura del viajero-escritor, a traves de diferentes epocas y diferentes modelos sociales y culturales, son objeto del analisis de los capitulos que lo configuran. Todos ellos abordan cuestiones tan fascinantes como el sentido del viaje entre tradicion y modernidad; el viaje como aventura de iniciacion, el viaje como metafora, el viaje a las islas, el viaje a un espacio urbano que hay que leer e interpretar, en definitiva, la relacion que se establece entre el ser humano y el espacio que habita o por el que transita, en perspectiva comparatista e interdisciplinar. Este trabajo es la culminacion de la actividad cientifica del Grupo de investigacion Complutense dirigido por Eugenia Popeanga 'La aventura de viajar y sus escrituras.
