This English translation of the 1786 work, originally published in
1889, is a history of the community of Seventh Day Baptists at
Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and is one of the major primary
resources on Ephrata. Written by two orignal members of the
community, it includes a biography of the spiritual order's founder
Conrad Beissel, whose spiritual name in the Ephrata Cloister
community was Friedsam Gottrecht.
