Between 1850 and 1880 many Mormon Saints came to the Salt Lake
valley at the direction of the prophet to help build up Zion. Henry
and Maria Brown and their children, including my GG grandfather,
Samuel, started their journey in 1852 after accepting the gospel
message from Mormon missionaries. Struggles, hardships, and even
death compete with faith, a new religion and love of the Lord as
the Brown's cross thousands of miles. Testimony is strengthened as
overwhelming tragedies are overcome. Sam Brown is seven years old
when the journey begins and the good times as well as the bad are
seen through his eyes. Sam makes it to the land called Zion and
becomes a prominent citizen. Join Sam and his journey through life
in this story of faith, love, endurance and commitment to family
and God.
