MacKayla Somner has tried her whole life to escape a past of
childhood abuse. She thought she'd done it. Now a Marine Colonel,
working for the Judge Advocate General Corps, her past catches up
when she's kidnapped from a grocery store parking lot in Arizona.
Her assailant, a former Marine Lieutenant seeking revenge for his
brother, rapes and injects her with a drug used to torture an
enemy. Facing a long and hard recovery, she must now confront the
past she's so desperately tried to get away from, as well as the
events that occurred while captive. With the help of her best
friend, a Navy Commander, she struggles to seek the balance that
has been destroyed. All hope seems lost as the withdrawals and
flashbacks tear her mind apart and as the date of the trial draws
near. Will she be able to live the life she's strained so hard to
work for? Will life ever be the same again as she spirals into
darkness; unable any longer to hide from the events of her troubled
childhood?
