The joy of a young girl who is looking forward to "Spending The Day
With Her Dad." This is the "Prelude" to the story, but certainly
not it's only concept. The importance of a strong father figure in
this young girl's life only scratches the surface of the story. The
journey begins to unfold in a small suburban neighborhood and as
the reader follows the story it takes them into the intrigue and
fast pace of the inner city then back again. It swirls you into the
"innocence's" in a young girl's life, then hurls you directly to
the issues that "effect" us all. The Story is told through the eyes
of a young girl, "Lois" and her father, "Chas." Lois relishes the
experience that she receives from the love and support of her
father. The biggest irony in the story is when he realizes, that he
too is benefiting, just by spending quality time with his daughter.
There are many different times in the book that the young, but very
perceptive girl feels alienated. It is a constant struggle for her
and very difficult at times. Throughout the story Lois finds that
she can stand by her principles and beliefs and still find the
courage to enlighten people along the way.
