Nearly a year after the death of his best friend Hank, Eric is still finding it hard to cope with the void his friend left behind. His only consolation being that he was absolutely sure that the honest, religious and righteous Hank was in heaven. Suddenly one night, he started to receive letters from Hank by the way of dreams. In his first letter Hank reported that he was indeed in hell. To his shock Eric learnt that most of his religious believes were faulty and lacked in substance. In the book Hank explained in detail why he landed in hell and why almost all people on earth will eventually end up there. He explained why and how they are suffering and what their ultimate destination will be. He took Eric on a quick tour through the history of earth and the development of man since he took his first step in an upright position up to his present state of development. Much emphasis is given to the gluttonous consumerism of modern man and the effects that global warming and the destruction and fragmentation of natural habitats will eventually have on the future existence of the human species. The book deals with a possible solution to the problems that is facing mankind in the form of thirteen commandments which will drastically change the everyday way of life. A few generations later a space ship reports its observations of the planet that ignored the commandments. The manuscript is a work of fiction but not in the sense of sci-fi. The facts dealing with global warming, the fragmentation of habitats and the unscrupulous exploitation of natural resources are, sadly, true.
