The Stories We Tell is the first ever collection of original
stories and poems written exclusively by Rhode Island storytellers.
Rhode Island may be the smallest state with the longest name but it
also has multiple storytelling events & groups. Five
storytelling groups-Little Rest Tellers; Rhode Island Storytellers;
Rhode Island Black Storytellers, Rhode Island Storytellers In
Concert and The Spellbinders. Three Festivals-Funda Fest,
Jonnycake, and the Rhode Island Storytelling Festival. A State
Library Service that encourages and provides summer work for
emerging and experienced storytellers and a network of tellers who
whole-heartedly support and respect each other. It is only in this
generous and caring environment that this collection could be
developed. Rhode Island is blessed with a delightful assortment of
tellers who create wonderful stories and have been willing to share
them with me and you.
