The Parable of Tehya is set in a time long ago that seems like
yesterday. It takes place in a faraway land that may remind you of
a village nearby. The parable reveals ancient wisdom that is truth
for a modern world. It is about original beauty and tribes and the
importance of one child. The images in the story are a composite of
wonderful things I have learned over the years, beautiful places in
the 25 countries I have visited, and my impressions of marvelous
people of both the past and the present in many cultures around the
world. In the book, Tehya asks her father the profound question:
Who owns the world? At the conclusion of the book, Tehya's mother
reveals to the great chiefs what is most important for our extended
world family at this time in history. -Darby Checketts
