Known as The Mother of Wales, the Isle of Anglesey was the last
stronghold of the Druids during the Roman occupation and had
importance to the Welsh until their defeat by Edward I who built
castles of subjugation at both ends of the Menai Straits. This work
covers the history of the isle.
