This story begins in the depths of a lost mind... a mind locked
away in a mental asylum for many years. The house on Cumana Point
is the key to unlocking a troubled past. It is a story of a man who
desperately needs to find out where he fits in the world and has to
rely on bits and pieces associated with the house, even though he
has no idea of his connection to the house. As the story
progresses, George Lawrence becomes aware that he is closely tied
to this ghostly house and only with time will it reveal its
secrets... his secrets. George Lawrence returns to the house on
Cumana Point where, though abandoned for more than twenty years, he
discovers snippets of his life and rekindles memories of his past.
George searches for answers to questions that have taken place in a
time shortly after the second World War when the Caribbean island
of Trinidad is holding onto a political system that is corrupt and
greedy. There is hope that George - a young, politically
well-placed lawyer - can make a difference. This is not to be as he
faces many challenges preventing him from attaining his goal of a
democratic and just government. George's journey becomes his
present, his past and his future. Each step opens and closes a door
to his past, clarifies his present, and determines his future.
