Double Knit, an autobiography, is Diana Hayes's struggle to find
purpose in living and to come to terms with the forces that have
shaped her life. The chain of major forces begins in her
adolescence with her father's sudden death and continues with
life-altering events resulting from divorce and remarriage and
finally the multiple sclerosis that claimed her as a quadriplegic.
