Annie Lawson is unable to speak after witnessing her step-father's
murder. Her mother, Jill Lawson Hawkins, claims she shot her
husband in self-defense to protect her life and the life of her
daughter. Annie is placed in an institution and she regains her
speech, but not her memory. Jill has built an empire with her
fashion designs and modeling. She is well known and respected in
the fashion industry, but her daughter is an unwanted burden, In
order to protect her reputation, she outwardly plays the part of
the perfect mother. Annie is eventually allowed to go home on
weekends and the hidden relationship between mother and daughter
continues. Annie becomes a slave and a prisoner. For years the
abuse continues, but Annie regains her memory and the truth is
exposed. In this final saga, Annie faces the unforgivable sin as a
victim of child abuse. Annie's past haunts her, but her future is
determined by circumstances beyond her control. Her mother's hold
over her is broken when Jill makes her choice between being accused
of child abuse or taking her fate in her own hands. Annie has to
decide if her life stands still, or moves forward despite what her
past has been.
