Hegemann and Peets' classic work on urban planning is an
encyclopedic compilation of over twelve hundred illustrations,
photographs, and diagrams. Their work was first published in 1922
and presented for the first time a comprehensive survey of what we
would consider modern urban planning or urban design principles.
Their work, often referred to simply as 'Civic Art, ' remained out
