A Victim s View of Age Related Macular Degeneration is an
Autobiography recording nine years the unique real-life experiences
that a victim of AMD encounters as the disease progresses. He takes
the reader from his diagnosis through the initial degeneration to
treatment and on to actual vision improvement. Late in his
experience Avastin became a treatment option which he is currently
undergoing. The author is a Mechanical Engineer and applies his
mechanical diagnostic skills during his 9 year journey to actually
visually assess his eye damage as it occurred. He reveals how he
did this so others can do the same as he chronicles his most recent
experiences in a here and now format that gives the reader a feel
for the emotional aspects of losing vision acuity. The difficult
decisions such as facing family issues as he was giving up driving
an automobile are addressed. It is written for the families of Age
Related Macular Degeneration patients as well as the victims. This
book is printed in large 20 point type so some of the least
impaired victims may read it for themselves.
