Francois Rabelais (c. 1494 - 1553) was a major French Renaissance
writer, doctor and humanist. He was a writer of fantasy, satire,
the grotesque, and bawdy jokes and songs. This mammoth, oversized
volume contains his best-known work, Gargantua and Pantagruel.
