In 1963, George accompanied his brother Peter to Benton, Illinois, to visit their sister Louise who had recently married an American and emigrated. As Louise performed her sisterly duty, plugging her brother's band to everyone who would listen, the Beatles' first song 'From Me to You' was played on Illinois radio, thrusting the Liverpudlian band into the American limelight.
