First two series of the BBC sitcom created by and starring Jessica
Hynes. Inspired by the active women's suffrage movement in London,
Margaret (Hynes) returns to her small town of Banbury in 1910 and,
with the help of her local craft circle, founds the Banbury
Intricate Craft Circle Politely Requests Women's Suffrage group.
Hampering their initial success, however, is local activist Helen
(Rebecca Front), who sets up her own anti-suffrage league and has
an old rivalry with famous suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst (Sandi
Toksvig).
