This report is based on the information gathered in participatory
workshops held around South Africa with children who have
disabilities. The activity-based workshops focused on the
children’s experience of poverty, disability and existing service
provision. The findings are presented within the themes of poverty;
schooling; abuse; social security; health care and services;
participation, socialisation and recreation; discrimination and
acceptance; and family support. This book accompanies Budgeting for
Children with Disabilities in South Africa.
