When the police found Peter Scholes unconscious on the ground under
a railway bridge. He was dressed in an expensive grey suit with an
equally expensive silk shirt, but no tie. His hand made black
leather slip on shoes, like the rest of his outfit smelt of money.
Though he had no watch, wallet or credit cards. There was a white
mark on his finger that suggested he had worn a wedding ring, but
nothing to identify him. He had no injuries that suggested he had
been attacked. It was a mystery. Now several months later despite
appeals on local television and in the newspapers, no one had
identified him. Neither had any man of his description been
reported missing. When finally his memory had started to return,
there was much in his life he would have preferred to forget.
Including why he had been abandoned.
